Coco Gauff’s US Open semifinal is STOPPED by environmental protesters as she battles Karolina Muchova to reach final in Flushing
Protesters halted Coco Gauff’s US Open semifinal against Karolina Muchova.
While the American led 1-0 6-4, the protesters caused a break in the delicate game. As it stands, 26 minutes have passed and the match has not resumed.
The ESPN broadcast closed the event as two men and a woman took a stand against the use of fossil fuels.
You could hear the triumvirate shouting ‘end the fossil fuels’, so much so that the game was disrupted. The NYPD has now been called into the stadium.
Naturally, many around the nosebleed trio were dissatisfied with the crass behavior.

Chants of ‘get them out’ could be heard as one of the males still refused to be taken away. The other two have been removed from the stadium at this time.
Other onlookers booed, booed, and yelled various orders, such as “sit down,” even saying “you suck” to the awkward trio.
While ESPN gave a vague description, they acknowledged it was an “environmental protest.”
Players were given a chance to go back to the locker room and spend time in the hallway while their coaches used the allotted time to leave the box, the broadcast said.
More to come…
