An Aussie beauty brand known for its ‘too good to be true’ hair range is making waves with two ‘must buys’ for 2024: a mask making your locks ‘smell like holidays’ and a shampoo and conditioner that creates an immediate ‘explosion of shine’.

Coco&Eva was founded by Australian expat Emily while she was enjoying the rejuvenating benefits of spas in Ubud, Bali.

The mum, who is also behind the hugely successful brands Bellabox and Sand & Sky, was struck with inspiration mid-hike on a volcano and wanted to try bottling ‘Bali magic’ in a way that combined tropical ingredients with science.

The result is one of the country’s best skin and hair care brands with raw virgin coconuts as the main ingredient; Indonesia is the world’s largest producer of the superfruit, which is known for its excellent beauty benefits.

Sweet restorative hair mask Results: This scientifically formulated repair formula transforms strands in five minutes using biomimetic ceramides, keratin and hyaluronic acid

As a sequel to Coco&Eve’s first star product, the Like a virgin hair maskthe latest purchase to fly off the shelves this year is $49 Sweet restorative hair mask.

The scientifically formulated repair formula, which has already received over 542 rave reviews, transforms strands in five minutes using biomimetic ceramides, keratin and hyaluronic acid.

It’s also packed with banana, avocado, guava, rambutan and the famous raw virgin coconut and only takes five minutes to absorb after washing.

‘My hair is oily in the scalp but very dry at the ends, so it’s very difficult for me to find products that help. This mask is absolutely magical, it gives shine to my hair and doesn’t make my scalp greasy, it also smells wonderful,” wrote one enthusiastic customer.

“Another great one mask. My hair is a million times smoother from the first use and I have had little to no breakage! This mask absolutely delivers everything it promises,” another added.

The second social feed purchase right now is the brand new $62 ‘Pro Youth’ shampoo and conditioner set.

Very different then Coco&Eve’s popular Super hydrating reach, this set uses probiotics and retinol and increases hair resilience while adding instant shine.

Clinically proven to improve hair shine by 93 percent when used with the brand’s Youth Revive range.

“This is the best shampoo ever,” one woman wrote.

‘I love, love, love this shampoo, conditioner and hair oil. It has left my flat, dull hair beautiful and bouncy with amazing shine,” another added.

‘I like the smell. Nice and light. The shine you get from this line is a game changer. Works great on my fine, long 2A hair. Works great with high lift blondes and I love the retinol used in this! It’s time we started focusing not just on our hair, but on our scalp too,” said a third.

The entrepreneur was pulled in two directions between having a house to call her own in Australia and building a brand; she chose to pursue the more volatile option and took a chance on herself.

Emily sold her family home for cash to reinvigorate her brand – which is still 100 percent privately owned – and relied on her seven years of previous beauty experience to make an impact in the market.

‘When I started researching what would eventually become Coco&Eva, the vegan and cruelty-free movement was just finding its legs,” Emily recalled. ‘It meant a lot to me because I was so conscious about consuming.’

“There was – and still is – a lot of brilliant hair care on the market,” she told FEMAIL.

“But I wanted to occupy a space between supermarket and salon-certified products. This brand strives to connect directly with the consumer and ensure they are taken care of in a spectacular way.”
