And if you’re anything like us, you want it to last forever, because we’re not ready to say goodbye to the recognizable cast.

So when can we expect Cobra Kaithe final season to debut on the world’s best streaming service? The short answer is: we don’t know. But with seasons 3, 4, and 5 all hitting the karate mat within 21 months of each other, we’re hoping the wait won’t be long.

While we wait for more news from Netflix, there’s plenty to read about the sixth season of one of Netflix’s best shows. And with a cliffhanger of sorts at the end of season five – full disclosure: there is a lot of with spoilers for the most recent season below – it’s time to prepare for the next outing of Johnny, Daniel LaRusso and their gang of martial arts friends (and enemies, lest we forget). Cobra Kai season 6 does not have a release date yet. In January, Netflix confirmed that the hit show would return for another outing, with the showrunners posting a letter on Cobra Kai’s X (formerly Twitter) account, which you can read below, explaining why they were bringing the story to a close.

According to Ralph Macchio, who plays Daniel LaRusso, filming is expected to begin in May. Speaking at the Atlanta Comic Con in February (per Pop culture), he said: “They’re writing the scripts now, and we should probably start this spring in Atlanta. I think May is the pencil plan to get started. I can’t wait.”

Principal photography officially began in late April, but the Hollywood writers’ strike – which began on May 2 – halted production. With the writers’ strike ending on September 27, it is likely that work on the show’s sixth episode will have resumed. However, at the time of writing, the actors’ strike is still ongoing, so filming cannot resume until a resolution is reached.

So the public has not been forgotten; we’re just in for quite a long wait. In our opinion, don’t expect the game to debut before the end of 2024.

Cobra Kai season 6 plot speculation

Full spoilers follow for Cobra Kai through its fifth season.

Cobra Kai Season 6’s plot details are unsurprisingly thin on the ground, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate about where the final installment could go, based on what happened last time.

After a thrilling finale, season 5 – airing in September 2022 – finally unmasked Terry Silver as the villain to everyone in the community. Since there were two simultaneous karate fights (between the rival kids at the Cobra Kai dojo and the adults, who ambushed Silver and his goons at home), it was a miracle that no one was actually killed. And after Daniel’s children revealed video footage of Silver bribing the judges to win the All-Valley competition, a showdown took place between Silver and Daniel, with Daniel victorious and the police arresting Silver to take him to jail.

Meanwhile, John Kreese may pose a new threat to our heroes in Season 6. In the final episode of the fifth season, it appears he was killed in a fight in prison. However, the final scene revealed that Kreese faked his own death. He did indeed use melted Jell-O as fake blood before somehow escaping captivity.

So maybe in season 6 we can expect a reckoning between Kreese, and perhaps Johnny and Danny, who lied to Kreese about hiring a lawyer to get him out of jail. Will time in prison have taught Kreese anything, or is he targeting the duo in search of revenge?

Silver’s fallout will likely continue to impact the kids he coached. In an interview with Digital spyDallas Dupree Young – who plays Kenny – said: “Kenny is heartbroken. I mean, it was honestly a heartbreaking moment, because his father figure (Silver) is his leader, the man he looked up to, his mentor, kind He betrayed him in a way… So I think Kenny is in a tough situation. He doesn’t really know where he wants to go at this point. But I can’t wait to see what happens to him.’

More of the action will also likely center around the Sekai Taikai Championships, with Jacob Bertrand, who plays Hawk, narrating Pop culture: “I really want to go to the world tournament. I think the world tournament would be super interesting because right now it’s only limited to The Valley of Karate, you know? But I think it would be really cool to have a number of crazy new players from all over the world. Yeah, and I’m sure Hawk can win at least a few fights.”

Meanwhile, we know Johnny’s wife Carmen is pregnant with their long-awaited baby, so the drama could play into that as well.

Alicia Hannah-Kim, who plays Kim Da-Eun, also teased that her character is far from done, and thinks there is more mileage for the female sensei. She said Deadline: “Hopefully we continue what we started in season 5 Cobra Kai…I think they opened a Pandora’s box with Kim Da-Eun and Master Kim Sun-Young. It really brought a darker element to this season and I’m curious to see what could happen next Cobra Kai is apparently defeated. I do know that Kim is determined to dominate the world for her family’s legacy, so there is still a lot to discover.”

As for the actual Season 6 storylines, the

William Zabka, who plays Johnny, said: “It’s been an amazing long journey, but it’s not over yet. Season six could be the show’s biggest, baddest, and most amazing season. Cobra Kai yet”. Big claims indeed.

Meanwhile, now that the warring children have declared a truce, it seems likely that they will all join forces and set up a new dojo for them all, but the question is what to call it. In the same video, Gianni Decenzo (who plays Demitri) teased from the script: “Victorious dojos are immortalized, and for individual competitors, the sky is the limit. But before we throw our hats in, there’s one thing we need to do: has to do: determine our dojo name.” Color us intrigued.
