Coaches involved in Cam Newton fight reveal what caused viral brawl with former NFL QB: ‘Nobody’s going to let you go around disrespecting’

Two of the men involved in the massive brawl with Cam Newton that went viral on social media have broken their silence on the fight – claiming the former NFL quarterback caused it by saying nonsense to them.

Newton, who last played for the Carolina Panthers in 2021, was involved in a brawl at a 7-on-7 football event in Atlanta on Sunday when cameras filmed him scrapping with several men after being attacked by a large group appeared to have been ambushed.

On Monday, a video appeared of a man wearing a TopShelf Performance hoodie – who was apparently involved in the fight – who appeared to attack Newton before the brawl broke out.

“I’m going to say it: They can’t hide the film now… your non-throwing Atlanta hero quarterback can’t beat me,” he said.

And after footage of the altercation went viral this weekend, the man is heard taking a dig at Newton and then revealing the story behind it with ex-NFL MVP – TopShelf Performance coach TJ Brown.

Brown discussed the fallout with Newton, focusing on him and his little brother Steph – also a football coach for TopShelf Performance.

The Brown brothers have played their youth team against Newton’s in the past and prevailed over him three times, meaning there was no love lost by the time they met for a fourth time on Sunday.

TJ claims Newton initially sparked a war of words by talking trash about their team, and detailed what happened in an interview with Fox news.

“The game is probably three minutes in, he’s sitting at the top with all his kids around him under a tent and yelling at us,” he said of Newton. “Hey, I know that play. That’s my stuff. I have taught you everything you all know. I am all of you daddy. I made you. I am the reason for everything that you all have started.” ‘He just shouts things like this.’

Brown then revealed that the physical altercation started when his brother confronted Steph Newton after the game, and that’s when the situation escalated.

Video footage showed Newton grabbing Steph by the jacket after they insulted each other, before TJ intervened.

“If you’re walking up a flight of stairs and you see a 6-foot-2 man grab your little brother and try to throw him down the stairs, you intervene,” TJ said.

‘It doesn’t matter who you are, it’s better to be hit, it’s better to be pushed, it’s better to grab him. You’re going to do something. So in that moment, when Cam lays his hands on another grown man, something will come up.

He says Newton was

He says Newton was “typical Cam” by talking trash to his youth team during the game

“If you ask anyone about me, I’m not confrontational, I’m not loud, I don’t get mad at people, I don’t argue with people, I don’t fight, I don’t do any of that. that crazy stuff. I’m not that.’

TJ went on to describe Newton’s antics as “typical Cam Newton behavior in the 7-on-7 scene.”

“No one is going to just let you walk around talking disrespectfully to them and talking crazy to them,” he added. “I know how to brush it off, but not everyone is like that.”

Steph also added: ‘I’m disappointed in myself. I let Cam trigger me to the point where I was entertained by what he did, but it was never out of ill will or to endanger him.

“I’m 6 feet tall,” man, but I stand up where I stand. I say what I’m going to say, no matter what. I don’t have to be loud, this and that. But I’m going up He had to let him know, ‘Cam, you’re not going to disrespect our organization, you’re not going to disrespect our kids or our parents here. You are bigger than that.”
