A CNN anchor reports that her husband of 22 years has died of pancreatic cancer.
Alisyn Camerota, 58, said she had “very sad and personal news” to share on Friday when she announced that her husband Tim Lewis had lost a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
The journalist’s husband died on July 27, just months before their 23rd wedding anniversary.
Camerota shared the following on Instagram: “Very sad personal news to share: my beloved and special husband Tim passed away on July 27th, two years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.”
In her post, she detailed the courageous battle her late husband fought after his diagnosis two years ago.

The couple, both 58, have three children together: twins, Alessandra and Francesca, 19, and Nathaniel, 17.
“I cannot imagine a single person who has dealt with a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility and courage than Tim,” the post reads.

“The children and I are still adjusting,” she said, adding: “Tim has given us a lot of strength and stability and we are determined to emulate those qualities.”
Lewis was born in Kansas City, Missouri and often returned to his roots to “watch his beloved Chiefs with his high school friends, enjoy childhood stories about D&D, Risk, and all-you-can-eat taco nights.” obituary of Lewis reads.
Lewis graduated from Yale University, where he was a proud member of the a cappella singing group Spizzwinks. He eventually went on to study at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
He then went on to have “a long, successful career in private equity and corporate advisory” at various firms including The Keystone Group, CRG Partners and Atlantic Street Capital, before joining Southfield Capital, where he was a partner for nearly a decade.
But nothing surpassed his devotion to his family. Alisyn and his three children were his top priorities.

“He was a phenomenal father, husband, friend and role model and the rest of us are trying to follow in his footsteps,” Camerota continued in his post.
She also noted her husband’s dedication to the community and the people around him. Lewis began giving back in high school and gave to many education and scholarship funds throughout his life “so that other children could have the same advantages that he and his children had.”
In honor of her husband, the CNN host has set up a donation drive and is accepting donations for ‘The Tim Lewis Foundation’ with the aim of helping other people and families struggling with the ‘exceptionally difficult’ diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Camerota concluded her message with, “I feel incredibly lucky that we have had such a deep, committed and loving partnership in the time we have had together.
“I plan to write more in the coming days and to get back to work in the coming weeks. Thank you all for your love and letters and trays of lasagna and the many, many gestures of kindness. I am grateful.”
Camerota joined CNN in 2014 after a long stint at Fox News.
