CNN anchor Kasie Hunt ended an interview with Donald Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday morning after she repeatedly punched her colleague Jake Tapper.
With three days to go until the first presidential debate, Hunt asked Leavitt how the Republican was preparing for his confrontation with President Joe Biden.
Leavitt accused Biden of “hiding” as Trump prepared to “enter a hostile environment on this network with debate moderators who have made their opinions of him very public over the last eight years.”
She said Tapper and Dana Bash are “biased,” prompting Hunt to intervene and insist they were “professional.”
Hunt warned Leavitt that she would end the interview if she continued to focus on Tapper and Bash, then asked if the bar for the debate was “low” for Trump.
“First of all, it takes someone five minutes to Google Jake Tapper, Donald Trump, to see that Jake Tapper…,” Leavitt began.
Hunt interrupted her and said she was welcome to come back to speak about Donald Trump.
Hunt then tweeted: “Come to my show, you respect my colleagues. Period of time. I don’t care which side of the aisle you are on, as my record clearly shows.”
