A top election data guru revealed a major sign that former President Donald Trump could win next week’s presidential election.
CNN political data reporter Harry Enten said one of the key metrics for the election in six days’ time is the low number of voters who think the country is on the “right track.”
Only 28 percent of Americans in a total of recent polls believe the country is moving in the right direction.
That’s a major hurdle for Vice President Kamala Harris to overcome, Enten told CNN host John Berman and Kate Bolduan.
“There hasn’t been a single time where 28 percent of the American public thinks the country is on the right track where the incumbent party has actually won,” Enten said, referring to every election since the 1980s.
“The bottom line is, if the Republicans win next week and Donald Trump wins next week, the signs will have been clear all along,” he said.

“You can’t say you weren’t warned,” he added.
He pointed to the terrible polling performance of former Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson, Harry S. Truman and George W. Bush as an example of when the incumbent party lost the election.
Biden’s low approval ratings, he noted, will also undoubtedly be a drag on Harris’ electability.
“So the bottom line is Kamala Harris wins. She should break history,” he said, adding that “Biden’s approval rating is way underwater right now.”
Enten also reported that Republicans secured “large numbers” of voter registrations in swing states like Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, widening their lead from 2020.
“Republicans are putting more Republicans in the electorate, the Democratic numbers versus the Republican numbers have shrunk,” he said.

Enten said his election data report focused on Trump’s path to victory and that he would follow up on the case for Harris in a future appearance.
His report appeared to have thrown Bolduan, CNN’s on-duty co-anchor, into turmoil.
“It’s not even about the content, but sometimes Harry’s birth is very scary,” she replied. “Harry is a very scary man.”
