CNN black sheep Scott Jennings reveals what really took Trudeau down

Republican CNN resident Scott Jennings had some strong words for Justin Trudeau on Monday, just minutes before the prime minister’s very public resignation.

The Conservative contributor also recalled who played a prominent role in the progressives’ ouster: scores of Canadian truck drivers.

Jennings made the comments on “CNN News Central,” praising truck drivers who participated in protests against the vaccine mandate during the pandemic.

At the time, the drivers staged a protest stylized as the Freedom Convoy, which resulted in them being punished by the progressive government.

At the time, Trudeau portrayed the thousands of participants as a “small, marginal minority” as he turned police on peaceful participants, confiscated fuel and sent police to supporters’ homes.

Truck drivers, meanwhile, were falsely portrayed as “Russian actors,” and crowdfunding site GoFundMe went so far as to freeze more than $8 million in funds raised for their cause.

Jennings, 47, was unwilling to forget this, praising the truck driver’s resilience as, at least in part, the driving force behind the day’s events.

To end the convoy, Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act, a measure that many saw as an abuse of power. Trudeau’s government even threatened to freeze the personal bank accounts of those who supported the truckers, prompting accusations of fascism.

“God bless the truck drivers – that’s what I’m saying,” Jennings told fellow panelist Bakari Sellers and host Kate Bolduan.

“There’s a direct line between those truck drivers and what’s happening today,” he insisted, appearing visibly jovial before Trudeau made his resignation official with a speech in Ontario.

“Good riddance,” he added, unable to hide a smile – as Boldan jokingly grimaced in response to her more conservative counterpart’s proclamation.

“This is my first day back,” she groaned, doubling over as Bakari laughed in the background.

She then handed the reins to co-host Sara Sidner, paving the way for an emotional Trudeau speech outside Rideau Cottage, his official residence.

“I intend to step down as party leader, as prime minister, after the party has chosen its next leader through a robust, nationwide competitive process,” he told the audience, first in English and then in French.

‘I’m a fighter. “Every bone in my body has always told me to fight because I care deeply about Canadians,” he continued, without mentioning the Freedom Convoy or any current crisis.

“I care deeply about this country and will always be motivated by what is in the best interests of Canadians,” the prime minister said.

In response to a question from the press, he emphasized that “Parliament needs to reset… and get to work for Canadians.

“Removing me as the leader who will contest for the party in the next elections should reduce the polarization we have now,” he asserted, expressing the belief that his departure will “lower the temperature” and signal a return to will make normality possible.

This time around, Trudeau sang a different tune in 2022, declaring he would not meet with truckers who would then overrun Ottawa — bizarrely citing their “hateful rhetoric.”

Appearing in remote isolation at an undisclosed location after testing positive for COVID-19, he labeled dissent caused by his own policies as “racist” and “violent.”

Under the progressive politician’s guidelines at the time, Canadian drivers who have not been vaccinated will not be allowed to enter the U.S. until they receive the shot. In response, they blocked border routes.

The two-pronged bid by the coalition of more than 50,000 truck drivers proved unsuccessful in the immediate sense, but did cause dissatisfaction among Canadians and American spectators.

Other factors, such as foreign investors buying up properties to the point of a housing crisis and terrifying inflation, exacerbated the situation, making Trudeau’s chances of re-election increasingly slim.

Additionally, at the February 2022 protest in Ottawa, a woman was trampled by a police horse, as was a man who tried to help her.
