CM Punk’s sensational return to wrestling looks set to come crashing down on June 17 as AEW re-books the United Center for the debut of their new show, Collision… nine months after the infamous real-life backstage brawl
- Punk has been absent from AEW since a backstage brawl in September 2022
- He clashed with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks at the All Out pay-per-view
- The promotion’s new “Collision” show is set to launch in June, sparking rumors
The return of CM Punk’s All Elite Wrestling could be getting closer with the promotion’s schedule to hold a show at the United Center on June 17, according to a report.
The Chicago venue hosted a special episode of AEW Rampage in 2021, which saw the wrestler make his much-anticipated return to wrestling after a seven-year absence.
And with Punk currently out of action but seemingly on the verge of returning, it is believed that the date can be set for the 44-year-old to return to wrestling in his hometown once again.
It’s also possible that the date could play host to the first episode of AEW Collision, which is scheduled for June.
According to Andrew Zarianthe show is booked and ready to go, and will be a landmark show in AEW’s short history.
CM Punk’s AEW return will be tied to a scheduled show in Chicago on June 17
Punk has been absent from Tony Khan’s promotion since a brawl at All Out in September
Punk has not been seen in AEW since a physical altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks at All Out in September.
He has dealt with an injury, but after suspension, Omega and his partners returned to the company, while Punk did not.
AEW President Tony Khan has regularly refused to raise Punk’s status, but it is believed the former world champion is on the verge of returning.

Fellow AEW star and Punkc’s friend Dax Harwood has called for harmony between the four men
Punk’s friends and the current FTR champions of the AEW world tag team have repeatedly called for his return, with Dax Harwood recently begging everyone involved to ‘make it work’.
“This is my plea for all four boys. Please find a way to make it work,” he said. If we can make it work, we can define the future of professional wrestling for a very long time and we can change the course of professional wrestling for a very long time.
“If you think about it, selflessly, we’ve been doing this down the road for 20-30 years so boys and girls can make a living.”
Punk replied, “duh,” suggesting he’d be willing to patch things up.
