A club has offered Football Manager players the chance to become board members and shareholders – if they can successfully manage the Premier League team in the game.

The only catch is that they are in the twelfth tier of the English football pyramid, meaning it’s not a challenge for the faint-hearted.

AFC Crewe are proud members of the Staffordshire Senior League Division One, a level outside the official National League system.

They are not the first club to offer a role this season following Football Manager’s exploits, with National League side Bromley offering players the chance to join them as tacticians.

Football Manager is no stranger to rags-to-riches stories and it will take commitment and guts to take AFC Crewe to the top of English football.

ā€œAFC Crewe are offering a share of the club to the first person to win the Premier League with us on @FootballManager,ā€ the club wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

‘The first to do this will become an official shareholder and join the club’s board, which runs the club online… just like Football Manager. To get started, download the E20 – England Level 13 database!’

Their tweet has reached 55,000 pairs of eyes at the time of writing, so there could be some stiff competition for the coveted spot on their board.

The club definitely has potential. In real life they are second in the league, having won ten of fifteen matches, one point behind Keele University First Team.

They haven’t lost a game since October, so promotion for rookie board members should be an immediate goal of the computer game.
