Virgin River Fans, you may not have to wait until next year for season six to drop on the world’s best streaming service, according to an exciting update from series star Alexandra Breckenridge.
Term had originally reported in February that Virgin River Season six was not scheduled to air on Netflix until 2025, as filming in Vancouver could not begin until March due to weather conditions. Fans were understandably disappointed by the news, as a new season of Virgin River has appeared on the streamer every year since its launch in 2019.
But now it looks like the Netflix hit series will be arriving in 2024 after all, as Breckenridge shared some intriguing information about the show’s release date. In response to a fan asking if there was an update for the upcoming season, the Mel Monroe actress wrote in an Instagram Story shared by the Emphatic: “I’m curious. I know it was announced that season six would air this year in 2024, whereas earlier this year we thought it wouldn’t air until 2025.”
Breckenridge continued to keep fans on the edge of their seats as to when Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and Mel Monroe (Breckenridge)’s love story would continue, as she reportedly added, “Well, thanks for all the guesses on when Virgin River Season six is coming out. I know the exact date. I can’t tell you. It’s going to be a great season. I think you’re all going to enjoy it. I hope you enjoy it.”
When is season six of Virgin River coming to Netflix?
Netflix never confirmed the reports that the show’s sixth season had been delayed until 2025, but the streaming giant has since provided an update on the release date of one of Netflix’s best shows. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos announced that Virgin River will take place in late July 2024, confirming Breckenridge’s comments.
Netflix life revealed that Virgin River was mentioned during Netflix’s Q2 2024 earnings announcement, when Sarandos discussed upcoming 2024 programming. Sarandos said during the conversation: “Just before the end of this year we Squid game‘s return, Emily in Paris‘s return, a new season of Sell sunset, Lincoln’s Advocate, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is blindRyan Murphy has an incredible new season of Monsters. That will all happen before the end of the year.”
Now Sarandos specifically mentioned that Virgin River season six With the new season slated for release in late 2024, it looks like it will be released in the final months of this year.
