I’m a cleaning expert – here is the easiest way to clean your air fryer WITHOUT scrubbing

Foodies with an air fryer will know that one of the only downsides to the efficient and convenient cooking appliance is that you have to take the time to clean it.

It can often take a lot of effort and effort to clean the inside of the remains of your food.

However, a cleaning expert has revealed her solution that requires little effort and saves you from having to scrub at all.

Claire Jenkins, 51, from Kirkintillochis in Scotland, is one half of TikTok cleaning duo The Wee Scotty Cleaners, alongside Hazel McKinnie, 45.

The pair regularly post cleaning tips, tricks and advice under their handle @theweescottycleaners to their 92,000 followers.

A cleaning expert has revealed her air fryer cleaning hack that takes little effort and saves you from having to scrub at all

In this video, Claire films a step-by-step tutorial on how she kept her air fryer looking squeaky clean after using it to fry bacon.

She told viewers: ‘I’m going to show you the easiest way to clean your air fryer. So I just cooked bacon in mine and I don’t let it dry out.

“So before I sit down and eat my piece of bacon, I’m going to soak this – this is the easiest way – in hot water.”

The cleaner demonstrated how she took the removable compartment of her air fryer, which was covered in oil, to the sink and filled it with hot water from the tap.

Claire explained, “Let’s just turn on the hot water and then there’s no more scrubbing because it’s still hot and it’s still wet, so you’re not giving it time to dry, okay.

“So we’ll leave it be, we’ll use one and I’ll come back to you as soon as I’ve eaten.”

She held up a Dishmatic sponge on a stick, the inside of the handle of which can be filled with dish soap.

After returning from eating her food, she drained all the dirty water from the compartment after allowing it to soak.

Impressed, she said, “Look how easily this will work. This (sponge) contains detergent and there is no need to scrub at all.

“If you had let that dry, the bacon bits and juices would normally all have stuck to it.”

She concluded by showing off her flawless results: ‘So you can see how easy it is to clean the bucket. Nothing has stuck to it at all.

“Look how easy that was. Look, if I had sat down and let everything dry, I probably should have gotten a Brillo pad, but lo and behold, it was just this magical toy. Ready and ready to go back.”

Although the hack appeared to have great results on the video, some commenters were concerned about the “grease water” flowing down the drain hole.

One user wrote: ‘Make sure you don’t block the drain with that grease water,’ while a second added: ‘Grease the plug hole,’ alongside a shocked emoji.

Meanwhile, a third insisted: ‘Just buy a damn air fryer liner. It keeps it safe and looking good for longer.”

The clip comes just after Hazel, the other half of the cleaning duo, shared a cleaning tip to remove deep stains from duvets – and it will only cost you £1.50.

The footage, which has since been viewed more than 11,000 times and attracted 18 comments from delighted fans, was captioned: ‘2-in-1 duvet stains and cleans your washing machine.’
