Cleaner reveals strangest thing they’ve ever found while they’ve been in someone’s home
British cleaners have revealed some of their most shocking moments at work.
In a recently resurfaced 2018 Mumsnet post, a cleaner shared a post titled, “Cleaner here, ask me anything!” — and people didn’t hesitate to ask some intriguing questions.
The after had 73 questions from curious users asking about embarrassing moments while cleaning someone’s house and the worst things the cleaner has ever seen.
In a shocking answer to the question about one of the strangest things she’d come across while cleaning someone’s house, the cleaner revealed she found a sex toy in the middle of the living room floor.
In response to a user’s question, “What’s the worst thing you’ve ever seen,” the cleaner admits that “nothing shocks her as much” as things did during her earlier years in the industry.

She wrote, “I’ve found used condoms, shaved p***s all over the bathroom, animal poop, cat distemper, all sorts.”
The cleaner then exposes the most “gross” thing she encountered while cleaning someone’s shower: an endless clump of hair from the drain.
She said, “I pulled it out of the shower drain. I pulled what I thought was a few strands but it just kept coming and coming out again, it was all stuck together with God knows what.”
She then revealed the most bizarre item she’d come across during a cleaning job, writing, “The weirdest thing I found was a sex toy, just left in the middle of the living room.”
Another controversial question posed to the cleaner was that a user asked if she had ever walked in on the owners doing something embarrassing.
Surprisingly, the cleaner had never walked in on the actual owners doing anything, but admitted to awkwardly hearing ‘people sh*****g’.
She then describes an awkward experience she once had with the couple of a house she was cleaning who just came in with the proceeds of a divorce.

The cleaner wrote, ‘I witnessed a horrible divorce between a couple I cleaned for, the wife was nice but the DH was clearly an abusive t**t. He would also ogle me.
“When I came to clean, they were either passive aggressively sniping at each other, or one went outside while the other stood there and the other s***t at me.”
Feeling “feeling sorry” for the woman, the cleaner revealed, “They were millionaires with a huge real estate company, but she ended up in a small house with the two kids and went to work in an office.
‘I don’t know how that happened. I still think of her sometimes. I hope she’s okay.’
