Claudia Winkleman revealed she was forced to improvise when she ran out of fake tan while filming The Traitors at remote Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
The presenter, 52, admitted she needed an emergency top-up after a week of filming the hit BBC reality show, but was forced to use gravy instead.
She revealed that the only thing available in local shops that even remotely resembled fake tan was ‘gravy granules’.
Speaking on BBC1’s Would I Lie to You? she recalled: ‘I didn’t have my normal fake tan there because I was in the castle, so what I thought was, ‘Let’s just use something!’.
“I don’t think I’m allowed to say a brand, but they were gravy granules.

‘I’d had a spray tan, but it was episode five: round table, you’re wearing tweed, but what else do you need? Gravy granules.
‘They came from a shop – there are shops there – and it’s really tasty. It really works.’
Claudia has previously admitted to using Bisto and tea bags as a tanning alternative when she was in college 30 years ago
However, BBC viewers will certainly be surprised that she has gone back to the cheap trick while filming the multi-million pound TV series.
Claudia went on to joke that her fake tan is just one of two skills she has for TV. She added: ‘All I do is paint myself orange and read from a teleprompter.’
It comes after The Traitors star Mollie Pearce revealed how host Claudia comforted her after the show’s explosive finale.
Viewers watched in horror as the model, 22, missed out on her share of the £95,150 prize pot to traitor Harry Clarke, 23, after the army engineer successfully convinced her he was a loyal wife.
Mollie said that after the revelation – which left her in tears – she was taken to the show’s psychologist, but Claudia refused to leave after the film wrapped until she could talk to her.

Narrate The mirror: ‘I actually love Claudia so much. I could hear her outside the door. She said, “Let me in! I’ll see her now.”
“She came in and gave me a hug, and she said, ‘You broke it.’ I love her. I just immediately felt better.”
The Strictly host then reminded her that the show was just a game and that her and Harry’s friendship was real, despite the betrayal.
Mollie also confessed that the show’s infamous roundtable ceremonies – where contestants confront each other – still give her nightmares.
She raved about the series’ “amazing” filming location in a lavish Scottish castle and said the traumatizing round table might put her off another visit.
“I hope (the round table) doesn’t exist there all the time because it’s terrible. Only the atmosphere in the room is really dark. Even now I can’t explain how tense it is. I still dream about it all the time.”
It comes after winner Harry Clarke admitted he had not yet spent any of his £95,000 prize because he was still ‘too scared’ to touch it.
