“@JeremyClarkson loves Clarkson’s Farm. I wish there were more episodes to watch. I also shed a tear together with you and Lisa. I hope this series continues for many more seasons. Something to laugh, cry and learn so much about the challenges our farmers face.”

“Not me who cries for a pig.”

“I was emotionally unprepared for Season 3 of #ClarksonsFarm. The last episode broke me. Like a runny nose, a bit ugly, broken and crying.’

‘F*****g L… just cried a bit when I saw the emotional #ClarksonsFarm in this first part of series 3.’

‘those poor piglets… why am I crying’

‘Watched #ClarksonsFarm S3 E4 last night like…#ClarksonsFarm’

‘I’m not up at 4.20am crying about the piggies and Baroness #ClarksonsFarm’

Jeremy, 64, and his partner Lisa Hogan are struggling to cope with the loss of the baby piglets and in one scene Jeremy is seen comforting an emotional Lisa as she breaks down in tears after hearing the tragic news.

Speaking about the scenes, Lisa explained: ‘It was heartbreaking. Jeremy always loved pigs. I didn’t think I would be so enamored with pigs, but I came very close, as people will see. Agriculture is just sad.”

She continued: “The animals become your friends and you become isolated – there are certain farms that are really isolated – and the animals become your family. If they become unwell, you will lose members of your animal family

It’s not the first time Jeremy has had to deal with the loss of animals from his farm and in an earlier episode he is reduced to tears when he is forced to send his beloved ‘pet’ cow Pepper to the slaughterhouse.

He reveals in the first episode of the new series that he can no longer afford to keep all his cows after West Oxfordshire District Council told him he must close his newly opened restaurant.

The farm continues to fight to save the on-site shop, which has become a hit with tourists, as Cheerful Charlie fights against the council’s endless red tape

‘If we can be so sad for a TV crew, imagine the farmers who are alone and have to make do with no one around them, losing animal after animal. It is so hard.

‘Every day it is emotional whether you are really happy because the weather is nice and you can continue with your work, or whether you feel miserable when it rains, the harvest fails and you cannot do anything.

‘It’s very difficult to be emotionless about it. So yeah, I don’t want to go against what he’s said, but I definitely think he’s becoming more of a man of the country than a man of the road.”

Jeremy put his arm around Lisa’s shoulders as the couple, visibly emotional, fought back tears as they watched a truck carrying thirteen of their cows drive away down a country road.

Clarkson’s Farm Season 3, Part 1 is now available to stream on Amazon Prime. Part 2 will be released on May 10.
