  • Trump Jr. has postponed the speaking tour due to visa issues

The Australian Home Secretary has lashed out at Donald Trump Jr. after citing visa issues for his decision to postpone his Australian-speaking tour.

In an extraordinary spray, Clare O’Neil described Trump Jr. as “a bit of a sore loser” and a “big baby.”

She accused him of “trying to blame the Australian government for his poor ticket sales and canceled tour” – before quietly deleting the tweet altogether.

Trump Jr. would appear in Sydney on July 9 for a tour that promised to discuss “the disease of awakened identity politics and canceling culture.”

South Australian Liberal Senator Alex Antic would join him on tour, along with Nigel Farage, a British politician and Brexit campaigner.

But cardholders received an email on Wednesday afternoon saying that “unforeseen circumstances” had led to the decision.

A spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the tour had been postponed ‘due to the delay in the arrival of a visa to enter Australia’.

‘The visa, which has now been issued, was not received until late afternoon on Wednesday, July 5; just 24 hours before Donald Trump Jr. boarding a flight to Sydney.’

But Ms O’Neil responded to the criticism, arguing that he had received all the clearances necessary to enter Australia.

“Donald Trump Jr got a visa to come to Australia,” she said in an extraordinary Twitter spray.

“He’s not suspended. He’s just a big baby who isn’t very popular.’

Ms. O’Neil said Trump Jr. was a “sore loser” whose “father lost an election fair and square – but he says it was stolen.”

Ms O’Neil posted the tweets at around 11:54 am. But at 1:23 p.m., the messages were deleted.

Shadow Home Secretary James Patterson said the comments could sabotage Australia’s relationship with the US if Donald Trump was successfully re-elected in the next US presidential election.

“Like it or not, Trump could be re-elected president in less than 18 months,” he said.

“If that happens, I hope in the interest of the AUKUS agreement that cabinet ministers in national security portfolios can refrain from juvenile tweets like this.”

During the lecture, each of the men had vowed to share their views on the state of affairs in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.

They were expected to address the AUKUS deal, the war in Ukraine and the sensitive relationship each country shares with China.

Trump Jr. went backpacking around Australia in college and said he “loves” the country.

“It’s a great country full of great people and that’s why it’s so sad to see what’s happening there,” he said.

“After speaking to some of them, it is clear that the same disease of awakened identity politics and cancellation culture that has crippled the US has clearly taken hold there.

“It is the greatest existential threat we face in the West and is literally the decline of Western society.”
