Civilization 7 announced at Summer Game Fest and will be released next year
Firaxis Games has officially announced it Civilization 7, coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch in 2025.
The reveal came during Summer Game Fest 2024, along with a stunning cinematic trailer teasing the new chapter in the game Civilization franchise.
“The award-winning strategy game franchise returns with a revolutionary new chapter,” reads the official game description. “Sid Meier’s Civilization VII allows you to build the greatest empire the world has ever known!
“Rule as one of history’s many legendary leaders. Establish your civilization, build cities and architectural wonders to expand your territory, conquer or collaborate with rival civilizations in search of prosperity, and explore the far reaches of the unknown world Do you want to build an empire that will stand the test of time?”
Sid Meier, Civilization creator and founder and director of creative development at Firaxis Games, also appeared on the broadcast to confirm that a full gameplay reveal will take place this summer in August.
Hopefully we can also expect specific platform details during this reveal, along with an official release date.

Also announced during the Summer Game Fest Lego Horizon Adventuresa Lego version of Guerrilla Games’ action-adventure game, and will launch on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PC.
