Residents in Sydney’s west have warned potential burglars by carrying out a dramatic citizen’s arrest.
The man fell twice into a backyard swimming pool on Wednesday night around 9pm as he tried to flee from a group of neighbours in Guildford, in Sydney’s west.
The footage shows neighbors confronting a man on the street who is suspected of trying to rob a house.
“Hey bro. Which f***ing unit you going to?” a neighbour can be heard saying on the CCTV footage.
Two neighbors confront the man while other residents come outside to watch as the alleged thief tries to flee.
Footage from another surveillance camera shows him running through a backyard, but his escape attempts are thwarted after he falls into a swimming pool.
He pulls himself out, but only takes a few steps before falling back in.
The alleged thief was then arrested by neighbors before police and ambulances arrived at the house.

The arrested man was taken to hospital.
“That’s what happens when you steal from Guildford,” one man can be heard saying triumphantly as the alleged perpetrator is put into an ambulance.
“He took a pretty big hit last night too,” a laughing neighbor told 9News.
“If you’re going to steal something, you stole it from the wrong place,” the neighbor said.
The man has been facing a series of charges for alleged offences since May and was denied bail in the Parramatta District Court on Thursday.
