At the time, the beauty wrote: 'Today I remember this inspiring woman. This photo was taken at Kensington Palace.'
'Princess Diana had somehow managed to get my office number and called herself to ask for me. My assistant was in shock!' she added.
'We finally got in touch and she asked if I would come over for tea the next time I was in London. I think Prince William was just starting to notice models and she thought it would be a nice surprise for him and Prince Harry.”
'I was nervous and didn't know what to wear, but remember as soon as she walked into the room and we started talking, it was like talking to a friend. She was a class act and showed us all what a modern princess should be. Rest in peace.'
When Cindy had the opportunity to meet Princess Diana, her eldest son William was only 16 years old.
In 2020, during a conversation with good friend and model Naomi Campbell at the No filter with Naomi series on YouTube, Crawford revealed that she was “so intimidated” when she first met Diana.

“I was so intimidated when I met Princess Diana and was at Kensington Palace and how completely down to earth she was, because there are so many protocols and I think because I'm not English, I don't understand some of it,” she explained.
The star continued, “I feel like she was wearing jeans and a cashmere sweater. Not barefoot, but almost that atmosphere of being super relaxed.'
Naomi had also met Princess Diana in the past and said: 'I loved Princess Diana, I just loved her. Humble, how down to earth and I am blessed to have known her as long as I have.”
Cindy has also had a busy schedule over the holidays and recently attended a Christmas party with husband Rande Gerber.
She shared an adorable video of her and the businessman striking funny poses as a camera circled around them.
