Cindy Crawford reveals she hired a COACH to deal with stress, might be in a ‘mid-life crisis’

Cindy Crawford is still at the top when it comes to her supermodel career, but she’s had to make some adjustments when it comes to how she goes about her day-to-day life.

Appearing on the cover of Haute Living the 56-year-old Fair Game star revealed that she uses a “coach” to help her decide how to live her life comfortably while in her 50s.

“This year I started with a coach and one of the things she speaks to me about is time. Specifically, where do I feel constrained and where am I stressed?’ she told the publication.

And the beauty also joked about maybe having a midlife crisis, feeling “free” after Burning Man and how she’s learned to slow down in life in a very rare unguarded interview that gave DailyMail.com an exclusive first look.

Crawford is a planner.

She is also very organized and she gives herself exactly the amount of time she needs for a specific activity.

“Let’s say I finish my workout at 9:30 am and have my first call of the day at 10 am, so I have half an hour to shower and recover,” she explained.

“But let’s just say, my husband wants to have a conversation with me. I found I’d look at my watch, like, I’ve got three minutes, and then he’d get annoyed, or I’d feel the stress of knowing I wouldn’t have time to put on makeup right now.

“It never occurred to me to maybe put off my first meeting a little bit, because I was so focused on being efficient.”

Crawford admits she was too type A.

“For so long I could do whatever I wanted to do by signing it. For example, I always liked being the first one in the house, even when my kids were little, because I needed that. 20 minutes in which no one needed anything from me,” said the star.

“So I would get up early and have an outdoor jacuzzi, put on gym clothes and get my email.

“Taking that jacuzzi meant taking the time to get in touch with myself. I’ve never really planned in unplanned time, and I think I’m doing more of that. Now I find ways to give myself more breathing room. And that’s where I stand in my life, leaving a little more kisses for the unexpected.”

The viewer also talked about going to Burning Man with her daughter Kaia Gerber.

‘[My daughter] and I was invited at the last minute by a friend of ours, and we were like, why not?’ she said.

“It just seemed like the perfect thing to me, because we went with people who’d been there before, so we didn’t have to think of anything but what to pack, which was intimidating enough, by the way.”

It was only two days and two nights.

“So I was like, I can do anything for 48 hours. And it ended up being an incredible experience,” she admitted.

When asked to describe Burning Man, she said, “I mean, listen, it’s raw. You feel uncomfortable because it is dusty and dirty, but it is very creative, Mad Max meets Alice in Wonderland meets virtual reality.

“It’s just wild and very liberating because you’re outside of yourself in a way. It’s not like: Oh, my outfit looks good, so I feel good. I’ve only experienced this once before, when I spent a month in an African game reserve; I literally only had a small hand mirror that I could use to brush my teeth.

“Like then, the way you looked here didn’t determine how you felt that day. It was incredibly liberating.’

And while he was in that wild, dirty atmosphere, Crawford felt a sense of calm.

“I didn’t get it before, but now I feel like I do. To me it was like being so out of your comfort zone in every way that you have no choice but to find yourself,” Cindy said.

“We’re all really walking around in these roles—mother, wife, whatever—all roles I’ve signed up for, but there are things that come with those roles, like responsibility.

For example, in my family I am the organizer, I am the one who is on time, I am the more serious one.

And I think it’s easy to get caught up in these roles and feel introspective because of it. Like, who am I? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just going through a midlife crisis,” she added.

So when she was at the festival, she dropped the mom, supermodel, cover girl labels.

“I think when you’re at Burning Man, you shed those sheets, and you’re just you. You are your own essential being.

“I feel like it’s a great place to just get back in touch with your true self,” she shared.

She also noted that she loved spending some quality time with her 21-year-old daughter.

‘I’ve been very lucky, because I have fun things to do with my daughter. We did the Off-White fashion show together in Paris, and it wasn’t like I was there as her mother or she was there as my daughter – we were both invited to take part in the show.”

And then there’s something like Burning Man.

“I mean, I’m sure she would have loved to have her boyfriend there, and I’d love to go with my husband one day, but we managed to go together and had a great time.

“I love doing things with her, but you also have to be careful to let her live her experiences without Mommy looking over her shoulder.

For example, she turned 21 [at the festival]. The next night she had a little dinner, which I went to, and then a party at a club, which I didn’t.’

When she went back home, she felt different.

“When I came back, I went God, I feel so carefree and fun, on the Playa, cycling, with no schedule. It’s like, oh, let’s go look at that piece of art, and then you’d drive over there, and either stay for five minutes or you’ll stay for an hour.

“But then you go back to reality, to your life, and I personally felt like I’m the responsible mother again. I am this, I am that. And now I wonder, at this point in my life, do I still want to be all those things I subconsciously signed up for?’
