Cillian Murphy had a five hour boozy drinking session in London this week.

The 46-year-old Peaky Blinders actor had his first pints of Guinness with the show’s creator Steven Knight.

He looked cheerful and smiling as he chatted with Steven on their pub crawl.

The star also signed autographs for fans and pictures of his character Thomas Shelby when they saw him in the pub.

He later started drinking champagne at French House and Steven drank the rest of the bottle before leaving at 8pm.

Cillian continued the party and met some more friends at the venue.

He himself left the central London spot about an hour later and was then seen urinating with his hood up in a nearby alley before heading home.

Their meeting comes amid news of a reported Peaky Blinders movie set to be released in 2024.

Steven has previously said the film will focus on World War II stories related to the group.

In 2022, Cillian revealed how far he went to get the right look for his Peaky Blinders character.

The actor said his stature doesn’t make him come across as the most “imposing” person, so he took it upon himself to portray the leader of Birmingham’s criminal gang, the Peaky Blinders.

He told radio times: ‘I am not such an imposing person physically. So I have to eat a lot of protein and lift a lot of weights and do all those things. So that takes a while, which I hate.’

The Irish actor further recalled spending time with show creator Steven Knight at Birmingham’s Garrison pub so he could get to know Steven’s friends.

The star incorporated their accents during their time together to hone Tommy’s voice in the series.

He explained: ‘We’re just drinking Guinness there, and they’re singing Birmingham City songs and telling all kinds of stories, and I was recording on my iPhone.

“And then I took that home and used it to track the accents, you know. And then I’d call Steve and leave voicemails on his phone with the accent and see how close I was.”

Cillian said he eventually came to the conclusion that Tommy’s “strength” was in the way he looked at people, adding that it was his “silence” that helped him get a handle on people.
