Ciara celebrated husband Russell Wilson’s one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers by sharing his announcement video on her Instagram Story on Monday.

After two unsuccessful seasons with the Denver Broncos, Wilson was told he was getting a head start on free agency. However, Denver allowed the former Super Bowl winner to hold meetings with teams in the NFL.

Wilson reportedly had meetings with the Steelers and Giants this weekend, when the Raiders also emerged as potential employers. On Sunday, ESPN reported that Wilson signed a one-year contract to play in Pittsburgh next season.

After Wilson made his deal official with the video, Ciara reposted it with a line of black and yellow hearts as the caption.

Before finding a new team, Ciara praised Wilson after he was cut by the Broncos. Following the news, Wilson released a statement thanking the organization and fans for his time in Denver.

Underneath that post, Ciara said, “One of One! My greatest inspiration! I love you #3 #Grateful.”

Wilson will join a Steelers team that finished third in the AFC North last season with a 10-7 record. Pittsburgh won their last three regular season games before losing to the Bills in the playoffs.

After Wilson signed a five-year, $242.6 million deal, the Broncos went 11-19 with him as the starting quarterback and failed to see the playoffs in both seasons.

Additionally, his time in white and orange came to an end when he was benched by head coach Sean Payton with two games remaining in 2023.

The turning point in the breakup came when Wilson and his team met with the Broncos during their Week 9 bye. The team reportedly wanted to find a “creative way” for Wilson to get a $37 million injury bond on his cancel or amend the contract.

Wilson then reported that they threatened to bench him if he and his team played financial ball during negotiations. The Broncos, including general manager George Paton and owner Greg Penner, have since claimed the pitch was made “in good faith.”

Wilson spent his first 10 seasons in Seattle, where he made nine Pro Bowl selections and led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl in 2014. During his career, Wilson threw for 43,653 yards and 334 touchdowns with 106 interceptions.
