Christmas has come early for Jimmy Barnes, who is currently recovering in a Sydney hospital after open heart surgery.

The beloved singer's wife, Jane, announced on Instagram Tuesday evening that he will be home in time for Christmas, surrounded by his loved ones.

In a photo shared on the social media platform, Jimmy is seen sitting up in a hospital chair and looking happy as punch in a green T-shirt.

Jane captioned the glorious image with some celebratory words.

'On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love said to me… 'the doctor says I can go home on Friday,' she began.
