Christmas Day weather forecast: Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth
The weather forecast for Christmas Day is the most anticipated of the year.
And on Wednesday it will be ideal conditions for al fresco Christmas lunches and dinners, beach trips, barbecues, backyard cricket matches and children testing out their presents from Santa.
Luckily, Aussies will get a brief reprieve from the sweltering heatwaves that hit the east and west coasts this month.
Temperatures are expected to range from the mid-20s to early 30s, with Adelaide reaching Australia’s highest temperature of 35 degrees Celsius.
The eastern capitals are in for a near-perfect Christmas day, with mostly sunny forecasts for Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.
“Generally stable conditions are expected across the country on Christmas Day,” Weatherzone meteorologist Yoska Hernandez told Daily Mail Australia.
‘There is a chance of heavy showers and storms over parts of the northern tropics and significant heat, especially in the north-west and east of Western Australia.
‘A low-pressure system will move east into the Tasman Sea, while a high-pressure system will dominate central and most of eastern Australia, creating mostly dry and settled conditions.

‘A cold front will cross Western Australia and this will be followed by a strong southerly change, bringing cooler conditions to the west of the state.
“Showers and gales are expected over the northern tropics, with isolated showers possible over parts of central east Queensland, south-west WA, the NSW coast, the east coast of Victoria and southern Tasmania.”
