Christine McGuinness shares her pride at how her three autistic children have coped with their last minute extended holiday after air traffic control chaos

Christine McGuinness has enjoyed a last-minute extended family holiday after being forced to stay on board amid air traffic control chaos.

And as her journey comes to a close, the mother-of-three reveals how her children — twins Leo and Penelope, nine, and Felicity, six, all of whom have been diagnosed with autism — have coped with the last-minute change.

On her Instagram stories, Christine, 35, said on Saturday: ‘Good morning everyone so you know we are on holiday longer than we planned.

“We were only supposed to be here for four days, but now we were on I think day 10 or something, I can’t remember.

“But anyway, it’s taking them (her kids) a while to settle into place and I think it worked out great that we’re still here because if we hadn’t we wouldn’t be half of the things we do now. to have.

‘For example, we are now in a café, normally we just spend the night in a hotel, so that everything is familiar to them.

“Last night we went to watch the hotel entertainment. I brought them every night, but we didn’t manage to get all three in the room. One of them might be outside, one with hearing protectors on.

“But last night all three of them came into the entertainment center of the hotel, watched a whole show and even got on stage with all the other kids and I thought…”This is great.”‘

“But anyway, they’ve done absolutely amazing and it’s now time to go back to school, but these extra few days of vacation have absolutely crushed them.” I am very proud.’

She later took to Instagram again to post an album of photos from her vacation, captioning it, “Proudest mummy.”

The first photo was a family photo of her and her three children, covered with a caption, with Christine hiding their identities, reading “Leo, Penelope, Felicity, I’m so proud of you.”

In another photo, the model, who shares her children with her TV star ex Paddy McGuinness, showed off her sensational figure in a blue and purple bikini as she posed with a glass of champagne in hand and posed at the resort.

In March, the model revealed how she sat down and told her three children to also reveal autism.

The TV personality explained that it was the “best part” of her whole experience.

On BBC Morning Live, Christine said: ‘I embrace that we are all completely unique, the best part of being diagnosed was telling them they were autistic and mum is autistic too. We have our own little gang.’

Christine had always thought she had a lot in common with her children, but attributed that to the fact that they were just her children, but then gained clarity when she received a diagnosis.

She said, “The clarity you get when you get that answer makes me feel less apologetic about myself, the way I think, the way I am.” I used to feel like a nuisance and sometimes still do, but now I understand who I am.

“Unfortunately, it is quite common for autistic girls and women to have high levels of self-doubt and low self-esteem.

“And when she said it really touched me, imagine not showing up for my own life, imagine not taking every day and every opportunity.”
