To talk with OK! magazineChristine spoke about the arrangement and said she didn’t know how long it would take.

She said, “It’s certainly not a long-term or forever plan. It works now because we are both so busy and we are in and out of the house so we tend to trade and share days.

“It’s really like any parent: juggling jobs and kids. We definitely don’t want to upset them or change anything too quickly, and neither do I.

“I like slow changes, and we’re fine — we’re family. I’ve known Paddy for 15 years so I don’t know life without him. It is what it is.’

“It’s good that he supports me, because I need that. I need to be able to leave happy, knowing the kids are taken care of and safe. It’s partnership and teamwork.’

Christine said: ‘It’s been absolutely fine, I don’t know anything but living with him. I don’t remember not living with him, I’ve been with him since I was 19 years old.

“We want to do what’s best for the kids, it’s certainly not a long-term plan. But right now we don’t feel like anything needs to change for me and for the kids. I think slow change is better.

“It’s working out well, we’re both at home and away from home quite often with work, we both have busy schedules so it doesn’t make sense for us to move into separate houses any time soon.” As long as the kids are happy, we’re happy.’

Paddy and Christine have three children together, twins Penelope, and Leo, nine, and Felicity, six.

It came after Christine candidly touched on her family’s dynamic as she described how they embraced their differences.

Paddy and Christine took to Instagram last year to confirm their split and revealed they would continue to live together for the sake of their three autistic children.

In a joint statement, they wrote: “We had no intention of sharing this publicly until we were ready, but after the lack of privacy surrounding our personal lives, we have no choice but to provide clarification.

“A while ago we made the difficult decision to separate, but our main focus as always is to continue to love and support our children.

“This was not an easy decision, but we are moving forward as the best parents we can be to our three beautiful children. We will always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily together in our family home.

‘We hope that this will now draw a line under all unwanted and unnecessary invasions of our private lives.

“While we operate in the public eye, we kindly ask that you respect our wishes for privacy in this matter. We will not comment further.’
