Christine Lampard claims she had children to avoid people asking when she will start a family.
The television presenter, 44, shares two children, Patricia, five, and Freddie, two, with her husband Frank, and is also a stepmother to Luna, 18, and Isla, 16, from his previous relationship with Elen Rives.
And Christine insists she has achieved her dream of being self-sufficient for her family.
She said during an appearance on Loose Women on Monday: ‘I had children to avoid people asking me when I was going to have them. I’m glad I had them. It’s because everyone assumes you have to be.
‘My greatest ambition in life was to be self-sufficient and take care of my mother and father. It sounds very basic, but that’s what drove me.

Luna was seen wrapped warmly in a padded coat and knit hat in the picturesque snowy print.
She captioned the photo: ‘And just like that…you’re 18!! Happy birthday Luna.”
The sweet snaps come after Christine gave a rare insight into blended family life earlier this summer.
She talked about being a mother Women&Home magazine, she said: ‘Freddie just turned two, so he’s a whirlwind.
‘They’re both funny, amazing and exhausting. I think they took all my energy away, but it’s worth it.”
