Christina Hall’s estranged husband, Josh Hall, put their ongoing feud on hold to remember a longtime friend who passed away on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post the same day, Josh, 43, remembered his late friend Gonzalo Galvez, whom he said he had been close friends with for more than two decades.
“Today the best person I have ever known was struck by the malignant cancer,” Josh announced.
“He’s been a tough guy his whole life, so he wasn’t just going to leave without a fight,” he continued, noting that he and Gonzalo “spoke or saw each other every week” until the end.
Josh was especially impressed by his old friend’s ability to “never give up” and never stop fighting, despite adversity.

He recounted how the two became fast friends while serving in the LA County Sheriff’s Department, and recalled how Gonzalo exuded a more confident image despite being only a few years his senior.
But he also struck a somber tone as he looked ahead to a future without a beloved friend.
When the friends met or spoke on the phone, Josh said they “relived” old memories and “made more plans for the future.”
“Sadly, those plans will never come to fruition together, but the memories will live on in me forever,” he wrote.
Josh went on to praise Gonzalo for being a “once in a lifetime human” and a “living legend who inspired everyone who came into contact with him,” despite being neither “famous” nor “rich.”
He recounted how the two became fast friends while serving as Los Angeles County Sheriffs, and how Gonzalo seemed more confident despite being only a few years older than him.
“I knew this was a man I wanted to be friends with for life,” Josh wrote.
He paid tribute to his late friend for introducing him to a group of “lifelong” friends, estimating that their “23 years” of friendship encompassed “more life and experiences” than most people could fit into a “lifetime.”
Josh emphasized how beloved Gonzalo was within his group of friends, as members of that group “took turns sitting at his bedside.”

He also assured his late friend that “Raquel, the kids and your family will make sure we clean up after ourselves until we’re all gone.”
Josh closed by repeating the last message his friend had sent him: “I love you Josh, it’s going to be okay.”
He added: ‘I love you, Gonzalo Galvez. EOW 08-06-2024.’
Last week, Josh, who denies turning down a seven-figure settlement from his ex Christina, shared a selfie of himself resting his head on his dog in a solemn post.
In the caption he wrote, “I prefer privacy, especially during something as life-changing as a divorce that I didn’t ask for.”
Without naming Christina, he vowed, “I will not publicly smear anyone because people have families, friends, and others who respect and love them. Unfortunately, the Internet is forever.”
Josh continued to his 92.3K followers: “We are real people, this is our life and I am not here to entertain people I don’t know with my personal business. Those details will be handled honestly behind closed doors with our respective counsel at the appropriate time. Those who know us, know who we are.”
Christina and Josh have both filed for divorce, with the former listing July 7 as the date of separation, while the latter wrote on July 8.
He also assured his late friend that ‘Raquel, the children and your family will let us pick up the pieces until we are all gone’

A source said We weekly this weekend that the soon-to-be exes “haven’t even started negotiations” in their divorce proceedings.
The couple married in 2022 and did not sign a prenuptial agreement.
Josh wants the assets to be split 50/50, while Christina said in a social media statement in July that she does not plan to divide her personal assets equally.
In an Instagram story she stated: ‘I have worked my ass off to build this life for myself and my children. Anyone who tries to take something they don’t deserve/did NOT work for should be ashamed of themselves.’
The message continued: ‘An insecure man with a big ego can certainly throw you off, but ‘I still stand up.”
After Josh shared a post about “hope” on his Instagram Stories, Christina screenshotted the photo and added her comment.
“I “HOPE” she pays me millions more than what she already offered me,” she wrote in an aggressive dig at her ex.
A few weeks after the divorces were filed back-to-back, Christina accused her ex-husband of transferring $35,000 of her money into his bank account.
On Friday, Josh made his first public statement amid his divorce from Christina Hall, denying that he turned down a “million-dollar” settlement from her
He claimed he wouldn’t “badmouth” Christina after he denied her claim that she offered him millions to resolve their divorce quickly
According to legal documents obtained by ET, the HGTV personality alleged, “Josh was able to transfer over $35,000 of my separate rental income into his account.”
She further wrote in the court filing: “I am asking Josh to account for the stolen funds and repay them to me as these funds are specifically used to pay loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance and maintenance on these rental properties.”
Christina was previously married to Tarek El Moussa and they have a daughter Taylor, 13, and a son Brayden, 8.
She was briefly married to Ant Anstead and they have a four-year-old son, Hudson.
