β€œI had Christina Applegate. She’s a huge Bravo fan and she reached out to me on Instagram and was very supportive. She said, β€œHey Daisy,” and we FaceTime and stuff – she’s just so nice.”

Confirming that the mother-of-one had contacted her personally, Daisy continued: ‘She was just a huge support, so much was happening, and we just chatted about everything.

“We talked about what she was going through, because obviously she has MS, so we talked about what she was going through and what I was going through, and honestly we talked (to each other) like two friends.”

Daisy explained that she’s not sure how Christina is doing health-wise at the moment, but revealed that it’s been “a struggle” for the Dead To Me actress – and hopes to spend time with her in person one day.

“Hopefully we’ll meet,” Daisy said. β€œShe lives in Los Angeles and I’m in Los Angeles all the time, but she’s busy with her family and I know she’s taking it easy and saving all her energy for her MS, but hopefully we’ll make time. ‘

Christina first opened up about her MS diagnosis in August 2021, ten years after she underwent a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer.

She wrote: ‘Hello friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I am so supported by people I know who also have this condition.

‘It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road continues. Unless someone blocks it.”

She continued, β€œAs one of my friends with MS said, β€œwe wake up and take the action indicated.” And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. While I’m going through this. Thanks xo.”

Since then, Christina has been refreshingly honest about the way MS has affected her daily life, opening up in May 2023 Vanity fair that she can no longer go down the stairs alone and is ‘afraid’ to shower.

‘With the disease MS it is never a good day. You just have bad days. People say, “Why don’t you shower more often?” Well, because being in the shower is terrifying,” Christina said.

‘You can fall, you can slip, your legs can buckle. Especially since I have a glass shower. It’s scary for me to get in there. There are just certain things that people take for granted in their lives that I took for granted.

‘Going down the stairs, carrying things, that is no longer possible. It sucks. I can still drive my car short distances. I can bring food for my child. Up, never down.”

Christina also revealed that she kept her contact with other people to a minimum because she had a weakened immune system and to keep her nervous system in check, she liked to keep her life as “quiet and gentle as possible.”

About the visit, she said: β€œIt’s tiring. Imagine being in the middle of a crowd of people and how loud it is. It’s 5,000 times louder for anyone with brain damage.”

Fans were pleasantly surprised when Christina appeared at the 2024 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles last month and received a standing ovation when she arrived on stage to present the award for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Christina, who leaned on a walking stick as she was escorted onto stage by host Anthony Anderson, said: β€œThank you so much. Oh my god, you totally shame me with my disability by standing up. It is well.’

She then joked that her body was “not from Ozempic.”

The actress previously shared that she gained 40 pounds following her diagnosis due to “inactivity and medications.”

β€œI didn’t look like myself, and I didn’t feel like myself,” she said.

Christina had to film her dark Netflix comedy Dead To Me even though her body was changing. She was so angry about the way she looked and revealed that she refused to watch the show.

β€œAt some point I was able to distance myself from my own ego and realize what a beautiful piece of television it was,” she said.

β€œAll the scenes I wasn’t in were so fun to see and experience for the first time.”
