Christina Aguilera steps out in NYC ahead of her Pride concert

Christina Aguilera looked edgy chic as she stepped into New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood on Thursday.

The singer, 42 – who is headlining NYC Pride’s Pride Island concert – wore a baggy black vinyl jacket over a fitted gray T-shirt.

She pulled on a pair of flared black jeans with rips down both legs.

The Genie In A Bottle hitmaker sauntered over to a nearby SUV in shiny black stiletto heels.

For a fun splash of color, Christina packed her essentials into a pastel pink handbag with silver spikes.

Her pale blond hair fell to her waist in wavy locks and a few futuristic shades rested on the bridge of her nose.

The mother-of-two rocked full glam makeup, complete with a bright berry lip and full, arched brows. She had glittering silver eyelids and sculpted features.

As for accessories, Christina made the bold choice to wear a penis-shaped silver choker around her neck.

She will take the stage this year on Sunday 25 June during Pride Island.

Christina gushed about the opportunity in a statement to Billboard in May.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be headlining NYC Pride’s iconic Pride Island,” the Grammy Award winner began.

She also said she loves celebrating the “strength and resilience of all individual members of the LGBTQIA+ community.”

Christina dedicates her performance to the “combined strength” of the community and its allies.

The event will take place at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, which will also feature Guy Scheiman, Karina Kay and Mor Avrahmi.

On Friday, Christina will also headline Pride Live’s Stonewall Day – which will be streamed live on YouTube.

The countdown to #StonewallDay2023 begins! Join us for an unforgettable day of progress, inclusivity and love,” Christina wrote while promoting the show on Instagram.

“Don’t miss the amazing lineup of artists, speakers and LGBTQ+ advocates.”

Earlier this year, Christina was honored at the GLAAD Media Awards for her ‘alliance’ in the LGBTQ+ community.

She received the Advocate for Change Award, which goes to an individual whose work has “changed the game for LGBTQ people around the world.”

“These are the things that really matter in life,” the artist said during her acknowledgment.

Speaking directly to the community, Christina said she is “continually in awe of your examples of the courage it takes to fight for the acceptance, respect and security that every human being deserves.”

She always seeks to “creatively empower others through my music” and encouraged others to “raise our voices” to end “discrimination, hatred and violence.”

“My bigger goal is to use the platform I have to change lives for the better, so thank you GLAAD for this and for all you do to make every voice in the LGBTQ community heard.

“We can’t help each other if we can’t hear each other,” she concluded.

In June 2022, Christina spoke at length about her alliance with PEOPLEtelling the outlet that the community feels “connected” to her.

‘Being an ally of LGBTQ+ is not short-lived. It’s in my DNA,’ she explained.

“Over the years, I’ve raised awareness about HIV and AIDS and helped families of victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting.”

Christina headlined LA Pride last year and hosted a pop-up shop for XTINA Pride 2022 in West Hollywood.
