Christina Aguilera hits back at critics in feisty New Year’s Eve post after dramatic weight loss
Christina Aguilera shut down critics in a fiery Instagram post on Tuesday.
As the 44-year-old music artist prepared to close out the year on New Year’s Eve, she delivered a moving message to her 10 million followers.
Captioning a video montage that began with various social media comments people left on her posts — including speculation about her recent weight loss — she wrote, “This year I’m doing something different.
‘This is a reminder to everyone that you are your OWN STORYTELLER in your OWN LIFE. No one else can determine who you are.”
And she added defiantly: ‘No one deserves an explanation. I am educated enough to know that nothing comes easy and that no one is perfect. Everyone will judge you. It doesn’t matter WHAT you do. And/or what you don’t do.’
The mother of two continued: “Acceptance means accepting yourself first. And the difficult journey it sometimes takes to get there.’

Hours before the clock takes us to 2025, she added, “I celebrate everyone taking the time to take one step before the next every day, building the next version of themselves for the better.” Give yourself grace, patience and respect…’
Aguilera has lost a noticeable amount of weight this year, leading some to suspect that she has turned to the popular weight loss and diabetes drug Ozempic.
Questions have also been asked about her ever-youthful appearance, with some suspecting that she has undergone a facelift.
Although she has not directly responded to the claims, Christina noted during an August interview with Glamour that she no longer “concerns about public scrutiny.”
“I’m at a maturity now where I just don’t care about your opinion anymore. I’m not going to comment on it,” she told the glossy.
She emphasized, “It should be your responsibility to take up your space.
“Others’ opinions of me are none of my business.”
She explained: ‘When you’re a teenager you have a very different body than when you’re in your twenties.
“I started stuffing, and then that was unacceptable, because it was like, ‘Oh, she’s getting fatter.’ Then I had industry people [say]: “They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager.”‘

Before Tuesday’s post, Aguilera shared another thoughtful message with her fans on Monday.
She uploaded a slew of outtakes from the year, starting with a black and white photo of her curled up on a rug in a music studio.
She combined the year and her age and started with the noted ’24/44.’
Then she added, “To end the year, my conclusions are:
Be grateful for what you have and for another year you spent on this earth. Every year is a blessing and deserves recognition for all you have accomplished. Cherish those you love. Don’t let them forget.’
The wise singer continued, “Hold on tight and honor what really matters. Don’t lose yourself in someone else. Be true to yourself first and foremost. Be the lesson you want to receive. And receive the lesson you resist.”
