Christie Brinkley helped an old friend ring in a new year.
The 69-year-old model took to Instagram to wish her boyfriend a wish Iris Apple a happy birthday.
Apfel is a fashion icon who turned 102 years old on Tuesday.
Brinkley’s birthday wish took the form of a rhyming poem, as she wrote about Apfel.
“She’s 102 and she’s got more style than me and you!” She is the fashion queen who gets better every year. And today is her birthday. did you hear? She has her signature glasses and a wardrobe full of fun, and we wish her the best of luck under the sun,” said the SI cover model.
Brinkley added, “She’s smart, clever and extremely witty, and she wants everyone to know that individuality is always beautiful.” That we should all be ourselves, one of a kind.

Apfel waves to the camera as Brinkley adjusts her beautiful blonde hair and shows Joel the strong smile she inherited from her mother.
On one slide, Karan helps Apfel put on a beautiful necklace made of diamonds and other precious stones, and on another, Apfel shows off a funky purse with green, white, and red stripes.
That night Apfel was gifted a slew of expensive necklaces—light ones that didn’t hang heavy around her neck—before she blew out the candle on her birthday cake.

Iris and her husband, Carl, ran a textile company called Old World Weavers.
They had a contract with the White House that spanned nine presidencies.
