Now, three years after tying the knot, Alicia has opened up about the first time they had sex on their special day and shared the five things she wished she knew at the time – including peeing
She revealed her tips and tricks in a video posted to her YouTube account with the caption: “Wedding night tips for celibate brides.”
Alicia said: ‘It can be a lot, all that anticipation leading up to the wedding night. That’s why I’ve put together a list of five things you need to know for your wedding night.’
Her first tip was to be open with your partner in the days leading up to the first time you have sex to ease any concerns you may have.
She explained, “So if you’re a little nervous about having sex hurting you for the first time, definitely tell your fiancé.”
The 23-year-old noted that by being open with your partner, he or she can be more “supportive” of you.
She even suggested taking a shower together before having sex straight away to help calm yourselves down.
“Obviously you don’t have to plan the whole night, just let it happen naturally,” she added.
However, Alicia noted that discussing “certain things” with your partner would help you feel better.
She noted that her second tip was so “practical,” but not many Christian women knew about it.
The 23-year-old noted that being open with your partner could help them ‘support’ you better and said you should be prepared for blood loss.
She then reminded her subscribers to “laugh at the imperfections” and not get too caught up when things don’t go as planned
Her final piece of advice was something she “really struggled with” on her wedding night
Alicia emphasized the importance of going to the bathroom after sex.
“It’s so important to pee after you have sex,” she advised.
‘It’s so easy to get a urinary tract infection if you don’t urinate after sex because a lot of fluid is released during sex and if it ends up in the wrong place you can be in a lot of pain.’
For her third tip, she advised you to be prepared to see blood and bleed if you were a virgin.
She advised viewers to “leave a towel on the bed.”
She then reminded her subscribers to “laugh at the imperfections.”
She explained that things could be “awkward or uncomfortable” at first, which is why you’d have to giggle when things “don’t go super smoothly.”
At the end of the clip, Alicia advised trying to relax and said to do your best to take in every moment
Her final piece of advice was something she “really struggled with” on her wedding night.
She advised people to “be present.”
“It’s so hard when your adrenaline is so high and it’s a new experience that you’ve been wanting your whole life and your emotions are so high that it’s really hard to be present,” Alicia said.
