Christian Wilkins may be struggling to find work as an actor after moving to Los Angeles five months ago.
But it seems the son of Australian showbiz guru Richard Wilkins is trying his best to fit in with Hollywood audiences, having made his debut in an American accent on a local news outlet on Saturday.
The aspiring stage actor, 28, spoke to Los Angeles-based ABC7 News Saturday morning as he volunteered at a food bank to help struggling members of SAG-AFTRA amid the Hollywood strike.
‘I’m Australian. I moved here a week before this strike happened,” the model told reporters with an American twist.
“Not the best timing, but it’s been great to see the community really pull together,” he added.

While it’s unclear if Christian is a member of SAG-AFTRA given his lack of previous acting credits, he was very happy to speak to reporters at the scene.
“I think volunteering is very good for the soul,” he smiled.
The Dancing with the Stars alum also shared a post on his Instagram speaking to reporters.

Christian has enjoyed several European vacations since moving to America in April.
He traveled to Greece at the end of July before flying to Sweden and Paris in August, meaning the time he’s actually spent in America is only about four months.

Nevertheless, he has involved himself in the union action.
Earlier this year, he also attended a protest with Australian actor Luke Cook outside Netflix headquarters.

Speak with The Daily Telegraph During the demonstration, Christian said, “It certainly wouldn’t have been my favorite example of a time to move here, but it’s also quite amazing to be here and see how the community has come together.”
Since Christian has not been able to get a job as an actor in the United States, it is unlikely that he is a member of SAG, but this has not tainted his passion.
“It really boosted my interest in it and my love and passion for acting,” he said.

Christian also hopes the strikes will inspire Australian actors and writers to stand up for themselves at home.
Christian’s connection with his famous father previously helped him build a modeling and reality TV career in Australia.
Dynasty star Luke Cook, who recently made headlines for revealing his incredibly low pay, meanwhile told the publication that the strike could continue until March next year.
That means Wilkins may have to wait a while before kickstarting his Hollywood career.
