Christian Wilkins has confirmed that he identifies as male, but says he sees all genders as non-binary.

The model and actor, 27, said he is “asked for pronouns a lot” and feels “very comfortable and happy” with who he is.

The son of Channel Nine star Richard Wilkins, who is an ambassador for Victoria Racing Club, told… News.com ahead of the Melbourne Cup: ‘I think all genders are non-binary, and at no point do I look at myself and think ‘I am a man’.

“But he/him still just resonates with me more than they/them.”

Christian praised the PRC for taking a step in the right direction by allowing guests to drop strict gender-based rules and “express themselves” however they want.

It comes after Christian shared his coming out story.

The influencer said there was never a particular moment when he decided to tell his famous father Richard about his sexuality because he always knew the Today Extra host would accept him.

Speaking on Phoebe Burgess’ podcast Under the shineChristian said one of his father’s friends, whom he didn’t name, told him that Richard expected him to come out formally.

This suggestion upset him because he felt that he shouldn’t be forced to come out unless he wanted to.

“The next Monday I went to Daddy’s office and I was almost about to cry and I thought, ‘I just heard you want me to say something and I think it’s unfair that you do that,'” Christian said.

Richard, one of the longest-serving presenters on Channel Nine, assured his son that he had no expectations and that he should not feel pressured to come out.

Christian recounted: “He turned to me and said, “Honey, if what you say is what I think you say, if you feel the need to say something, then say it, but you don’t have to say everything to me.” .”

“And I think that was so great to hear because it never felt like anything I wanted or had to say and I loved that.”

He said the moment really stuck with him, realizing that “it was not necessary to prove myself to be accepted… I was just accepted for who I was.”

Christian responded to this criticism by mocking the way some people react hysterically to men who like to wear dresses.

‘What is happening to the world!!!! Masculinity is coming to an end!!! Burn everything!!’ he tweeted with effusive support from his Twitter followers.

Christian put his best fashion foot forward on Sunday when he arrived on the Logies red carpet in a sheer backless dress.

He wore his long blond hair loose, opted for a pair of quirky hoof style heels and sported a dramatic necklace slung down his back.
