Christian Pulisic has said he is ‘extremely happy’ at Chelsea amid a slow start to the season, having only gotten two starts in the league.

Pulisic made the comment after being reminded of a TikTok he posted in April 2020 with his dog that that became ‘a thing’ because he was wearing a Borussia Dortmund training shirt.

“I made a TikTok with my dog who didn’t think much about it, I was just wearing my, you know, my former team’s training shirt I still had,” the American said in a video for GQ.

Pulisic scored against Wolves last weekend in a 3-0 win after getting a rare starting place

The winger posted this video of him wearing his Borussia Dortmund training shirt in April 2020

‘Yes, it’s funny. It doesn’t really mean anything. I’m still very happy with the team I’m on now. So I’m happy.’

It’s not clear when the video, posted on Wednesday, was actually shot, though Pulisic’s words may nonetheless be encouraging to Chelsea and USMNT fans.

The winger also teased the USMNT’s match-up with England on November 25 in the World Cup, with his club teammates Reece James, Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling all likely to be in the roster for the Three Lions.

‘It will be a big game. I’m really looking forward to it,” he said. “I’ve played against England before and I’ve already played against these guys.

“So your relationship off the field never changes because we’re all good friends and we’re close, but at the end of the day, when the whistle blows, you’re on the field and you just join in, so you forget about it a bit. It will certainly be a good time.’

Pulisic has endured a difficult season in the Premier League so far, with former manager Thomas Tuchel and now Graham Potter often favoring other options.

However, he did not hesitate when asked which of England, Germany and Spain had the strongest domestic competition.

“I think the English Premier League is the best league in the world right now. I think overall it has the highest level of teams and many of the best players in the world,” he said.

“As far as the competition is concerned, I think the Bundesliga has prepared me very well to come to the Premier League. I think there are similarities, there are differences. Yes, it put me in a good place to be where I am now.’

Pulisic and the USMNT are not entering Qatar in the best shape, as the team lost to Japan and tied for Saudi Arabia in a couple of friendlies last month in which they failed to score.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old cut a confident figure in the clip as he enters his first World Cup, and the team figures to get players like Tim Weah, Antonee Robinson and Yunus Musah back healthy.

“We go in there with the aim of winning the World Cup. And we’re going in with the mindset to win,” he said.

“Maybe we don’t have the highest odds and we’re by no means favorites, but we’re going in and we’re going to give everything we have and hopefully make some Americans proud.”
