Chrissy Teigen shares emotional update as she prepares to evacuate her $17.5M Beverly Hills home amid LA fire

Chrissy Teigen shared an emotional and emotional update with her 41.9 million Instagram followers amid the devastating wildfires in Southern California.

The 39-year-old cookbook author, one of more than 100,000 City of Angels residents forced to flee their homes due to the many fires burning out of control in the Los Angeles area, revealed she was in shock.

“This is surreal,” she captioned a mirror selfie from her closet as she held her hand over her mouth. ‘I’m very scared now. Packaging.’

The mother of four stood next to a black suitcase and was believed to be gathering her most prized possessions before fleeing with her husband John Legend and their children Luna Simone, Miles Theodore, Esti Maxine and Wren Alexander.

In an earlier post to her Instagram Story, she admitted she was at a loss for words as she described the out-of-control bushfires as a “hellscape.”

“Right now we’re doing okay, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don’t know who are not okay,” she wrote. ‘Thank you for reaching out. If you are currently looking for ways to help our community, please submit everything you see.

The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit girl concluded her post by writing, “And God bless the firefighters and all the first responders.”

Teigen appeared to be moving out of her $17.5 Beverly Hills mansion, which she and Legend purchased in 2020.

In August 2023, the couple, who married in 2013, shared photos of their stunning renovations as they opened their doors to Architectural Digest.

“We love how open it feels and how it is so connected to the outdoors,” Legend said of their home, before explaining that their last home was “darker and more secluded, like a retreat.”

He continued: ‘We were attracted to this place because of its lightness and airiness… We wanted to create something magical, especially for the children.’

Since the fires broke out, some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities have been forced to pick up the pieces after their affluent neighborhoods were reduced to ash and rubble.

The death toll from the historic infernos has now reached five, as heroic firefighters continue to battle hellish conditions on the frontlines of at least five different fires.

The homes of Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman and Miles Teller are among those destroyed, while dozens of other stars now have to wait anxiously alongside their neighbors to hear if anything can be saved.

Paris Hilton also lost her waterfront home in Malibu, which she revealed burned to the ground on live television.

“Sitting with my family, watching the news and seeing our house in Malibu burn to the ground live on TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” the 43-year-old socialite said on X/Twitter, accompanied by an excerpt from KABC showing the damage.

This Is Paris star – who shares two one-year-old children with husband Carter Reum, 43, son Phoenix Barron and daughter London Marilyn – said she was ‘heartbroken beyond words’ amid the damaging bushfires.

“This house was the place where we made so many cherished memories,” Hilton said. “It’s where Phoenix took its first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.”

She continued, “Although the loss is overwhelming, I hold on to the gratitude that my family is safe. My heart and prayers go out to all the families affected by these fires.

‘To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories and their beloved pets. My heart aches for those who are still in danger or mourning greater losses.”

Hilton said that “the devastation is unimaginable” and “to know that so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”

Hilton said members of her 11:11 Media Impact Team are “reaching out to nonprofits today to learn how we can best support the communities affected by these fires” and “remain committed to providing relief as quickly as possible and make a meaningful difference’. for those who need it most.”

She added, “To the brave firefighters and first responders who risk their lives to protect us, you are true heroes.

“I am so grateful for your courage, dedication and the incredible sacrifices you make to save lives and fight this unimaginable battle. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.’

Hilton encouraged her followers to “stay safe and follow evacuation orders” amid the difficult time because “you never know when everything can change.”

“Let us protect each other and hold on to the hope that these fires will soon be brought under control. Sending so much love and strength to you all. We’re in this together, LA. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight.”

Sources told TMZ that the house that burned down in the fire was not the “main residence” that the hotel heiress lives in, as she owns “several properties,” including a mansion in Beverly Hills.

Anna Faris; Adam Brody and Leighton Meester; Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag; James Bos; Eugene Levy; Miles and Keleigh Teller and John Goodman also lost their homes in the fires.

Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Hamill and Mandy Moore were among the celebrities told to evacuate their homes.
