Chrissy Teigen blasts British ‘kn*bs and t**ts’ after she is criticised for mistaking Ipswich for Chelsea after attending their game with Arsenal on day out with John Legend

Chrissy Teigen appeared to mistake Ipswich Town for Chelsea after wearing the latter’s shirt while attending a match at fellow London club Arsenal.

Her husband John Legend and their children watched as Arsenal beat Ipswich 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium in north London.

It was the couple’s first Premier League match and after the match the pair gave an interview to Prime Video.

However, when asked why she supports Chelsea, Chrissy appeared to confuse the West London team with the team she had just spent the last 90 minutes watching at Ipswich Town.

She said, “Listen, I love an underdog, and I love coming in and being surprised by how much a team can do, and I think it was so fun for us to root for them, because everyone Arsenal’s side was on.

‘Yes, I really wanted to give them the support they needed. When you said Chelsea I thought: is Chelsea Ipswich? Don’t know.’

The 39-year-old posted to her Instagram to show off her ‘risky moves’ by wearing a Chelsea shirt on the Arsenal pitch, while also wearing a half and half scarf with the image of Ipswich Town.

During the match, she also took to Instagram to suggest ways to make the game more exciting, saying that ‘football needs more goals’, before adding ‘the main goals also need to be higher in the air’.

Chrissy also suggested ways to make the game more exciting, saying ‘football needs more goals’ before adding ‘also the main goals need to be higher in the air’.

Following their appearance on Prime Video, football fans branding her ‘clueless’ and online criticism seemed to trigger Chrissy, who posted a series of videos on Instagram slamming the critics as ‘n**s and t***s’.

Taking to her Instagram Stories she fumed: ‘Do you know who the biggest ‘n**s and t***s’ are? The people who don’t like football as much as I do

She then shared a throwback photo of herself in a football kit before a match, adding: ‘Does this look like the face of someone who doesn’t know football?’

Speaking to the streamer earlier in the evening, John said: “This was so much fun. This is our first ever Premier League game, and we’re here for the holidays.

‘We’re having a great time. You know, my friends, I don’t know the league very well, and my friends thought: Arsenal are going to win by about six goals.

“But it was a closer game than we expected, closer than we thought.”

He added that his family goes to football matches in LA ‘occasionally’, before saying that England is ‘where the real football is played’.

Chrissy continued, “We feel spoiled to be here, especially as people who don’t understand the game and its nuances as well as anyone else. So the fact that we are allowed to be on the field.’

Chrissy has since blasted the ‘n**s and t***s’ who claim she knows nothing about football

Chrissy is not the first American A-lister to pledge allegiance to an English football club.

Tom Hanks has been a long-time fan of Aston Villa, as he explained in a 2019 episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, who seemed puzzled as to why he would support what he called an “obscure team.”

“I don’t think Aston Villa is an obscure team, the burgundy and the blue,” Hanks told him.

He went on to explain that after waking up early due to jet lag while in London, he turned on the BBC to check the football results and immediately liked the name Aston Villa.

Hanks has since been spotted at Villa Park last season cheering on the Claret and Blue version against Liverpool in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

While Samuel L Jackson has been a devout Anfield fan since starring in the 2001 British film The 51st State, shot on location on Merseyside, where his character Elmo McElroy experiences a clash between Liverpool and Manchester United during the drugs drama’s climax.

Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone claims to be an Everton fan after attending the club’s 1-1 draw against Reading in January 2007 following an invitation from former Blues shareholder and Planet Hollywood owner Robert Earl.

Adam Sandler was spotted at Stamford Bridge cheering on Chelsea earlier this year.

American rap icon Jay-Z said he started supporting Arsenal after seeing club legend Thierry Henry.

Jay-Z said in a 2010 interview with Arsenal.com: ‘When Thierry Henry was at the club, I saw him play and I just thought he was a great player.

‘Since then I have been a big fan of the club, I follow you, and today you still play the beautiful football that Thierry did. I think he had a real long-term impact on the team.”

Kim Kardashian was also seen cheering on Arsenal with her son as they crashed out of the Europa League against Sporting CP in the Emirates in March 2023.

And Leeds fans were left stunned after reports that Will Ferrell – who had previously called himself a Cheslea fan – had bought a major stake in the club.

Black Panther actor Michael B Jordan, who also ventured into English football, was announced as co-owner of Premier League Bournemouth in 2022 – and earlier this year it was reported that he was making a kit for Cherries to wear .

Perhaps most famously, actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over Wrexham in 2020 and oversaw successive promotions that saw the North Wales club play in League One this season.
