Who will avoid relegation in the Premier League and who is destined for the drop? Mail Sport’s CHRIS SUTTON gives his predictions for the final Premier League weekend
- Chris Sutton has given his verdict on the latest Premier League weekend
- Everton will beat Bournemouth to retain their top English fighting status
- While Manchester City will impress again in London against Brentford
The 2022/23 Premier League season enters its final round as this weekend prepares for the conclusion of another top-flight English campaign.
The title has already been decided as Manchester City clinch a third consecutive title with a week to go, but there is still plenty to fight for.
Everton, Leicester and Leeds are locked in a three-way relegation battle, but only one of them will prevent the dreaded drop to the championship on the final day of the season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, Manchester United and surprise contenders Newcastle have wrapped up the remaining Champions League qualifiers behind City.
Mail Sport’s Chris Sutton gives his Premier League predictions for the final weekend of action.
Man City have already clinched the Premier League title heading into the final weekend
Sean Dyche’s Everton will beat Bournemouth to keep their place in the Premier League
Arsenal 2 Wolves 0
This is a dead rubber, but Arsenal will still end the season in style for their home supporters.
Aston Villa 1 Brighton 1
Villa beat Brighton earlier this season but I’m not sure they’ll do the same tomorrow. The Seagulls may have a rotated side, but they are still rising after securing their golden ticket to Europe.
Brentford 1Manchester City 2
Completing Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions league double would be a brilliant season for Brentford. It will be close, but I expect City to come through.
Chelsea 0 Newcastle 2
Newcastle may be on the beach and secure their place in the Champions League, but they will still have too much for Chelsea. The Blues have been bad this season.
Crystal Palace 2 Nottingham Forest 0
I’m not sure many could have done better than Roy Hodgson at Palace and his side should finish the season with a home win.
Everton 1 Bournemouth 0
It’s going to be a nervous day for Sean Dyche and his team if this game is as close as I think. But I think they have enough to get through and survive.
Leeds boss Sam Allardyce seems lost when it comes to saving his side’s defensive woes
Man United have qualified for Champions League qualification heading into the final weekend
Leeds 1 Tottenham 1
Even Big Sam has looked at a loss on how to strengthen Leeds at the rear. I don’t see them winning this one against a Spurs side that has been blowing hot and cold all season.
Leicester 2 West Ham 1
Dean Smith took a big gamble thinking that at Newcastle they could draw, win this game and stay afloat. The first two parts may go according to plan, but the third is out of their hands.
Manchester United 2 Fulham 1
There was plenty of fireworks when these sides last met and while Marco Silva’s side will put a good punch this time around, United should have too much for them.
Southampton 0 Liverpool 2
The Saints owe their fans a big debt after a dismal season, but I don’t think they can live up to it. Jurgen Klopp’s side will finish with a comfortable victory on the south coast.
