Chris Pratt under fire after sharing his views on the election

Chris Pratt is under fire for his neutral approach to the presidential election.

In an essay he wrote for his mother-in-law Maria Shriver’s website: Maria Shriver’s Sunday paperthe Marvel actor wanted to remind people that whoever the winner of the election is – and which party wins – ‘we are fellow countrymen.’

He wrote, “It’s okay to take a moment to lick your wounds when you lose. Heck, go ahead and cry in the mirror.”

“But if we become too paralyzed by defeat or too pompous in victory, loyalty to our ‘team’ can blind us to the fact that we are fellow countrymen,” the movie star said.

Maria shared a link to his story on her site, writing that it was “a very good opinion piece from my son-in-law.”

Chris also gave his advice on how to be a good citizen no matter who is elected to office.

‘How do we become a nation of honorable winners and graceful losers? It starts with remembering that no matter who wins or loses, there will still be people who need help in this country,” adding that you have to “find them” and “serve them.”

He urged both sides to “accept the results and focus instead on standing up for each other.”
