Chris Pratt reveals reason behind recent weight gain as he embarks on 2025 fitness challenge
Chris Pratt received a lot of support after revealing he got ‘fluff’ after taking a month off from exercise.
The 45-year-old actor went to work on Thursday Instagram to share a video of himself at his home gym after the holidays and encouraged fans to join him on the DEF Reset.
The fitness challenge, also known as the Discipline Equals Freedom Reset, is a month-long training plan sponsored by Jocko Fuel that includes masterclasses and other content to promote weight loss.
In the video, the Guardians of the Galaxy star gave an inspiring speech, including clips of himself working out in hopes of “transforming” his body.
“Is anyone out there dealing with the December Fats?” I know I am! Love handles full and fluffy,” he wrote in the caption.
‘But that’s what the start of the new year is for!! Started Def Reset yesterday. Disabled day two today. LESSFGO!!!’

In the video, the actor told fans, “Hey, what’s up? Happy new year. Here we go, day one DEF reset. Will you join me? Do it, let’s go.
“I took the whole month of December off, it was wonderful and I got some fluff on this part,” he said, caressing his stomach. ‘The love handles are all full, we have to work on that.’
The Parks and Recreation alum continued, “I’m going to start with a little cardio fasting, I’m going to do some burpees, I’m going to do some weights.”
As for his end result, the actor said he wants to get into “the best shape” before filming for season two of his hit show Terminal List.
“Anyway, it’s day one and my goal is to be in the best shape I can be before we start filming season two of Terminal List, which is in March. That gives me about eight to ten weeks.
Pratt has gained and lost weight for past roles to better suit his individual on-screen characters, proving his dedication to the craft.
He previously admitted that he deliberately gained weight for his roles in Delivery Man (2013) and Parks and Recreation (2009–2015), because he thought he was funnier when he was heavier.
‘I’m hoping to transform my body, I’m not new to this game, I’ve taken some time off and now it’s time to get back on that horse. Why don’t you jump on that horse with me?’ Pratt told his 45.2 million followers.
‘DEF Reset day one, tag me, let’s do it together. Here we go, Happy New Year everyone,” he said, adding clips of himself jogging on a treadmill. ‘DEF Reset day one complete. Your turn, let’s go.’
