Chris Pratt reveals he was turned down by Marvel multiple times before landing Star-Lord

Chris Pratt talked about the difficult audition process he went through trying to land a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 43-year-old actor revealed to Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday that he had a “rough run” by auditioning and losing multiple roles, including parts in the Thor and Captain America movies.

Pratt auditioned for so many different roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe that he almost gave up before landing Star-Lord in Guardians Of The Galaxy.

“I auditioned for all of them. I had a rough run with Marvel,” Pratt said. “I auditioned for Thor, but not even to be Thor — but to be one of the sidekick guys, and I didn’t get a call back.”

He added, “It got to the point where I would never audition for Marvel again. I was like, “This is stupid; I’m never going to be in a Marvel movie.”

On Friday, Pratt’s superstar father-in-law Arnold Schwarzenegger praised Chris after watching his new movie Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.

The 75-year-old action star – who recently introduced the world to his mini-pig Schnelly – gave a heartwarming shoutout to Pratt via Twitter, telling the Marvel mainstay that he is “very, very proud” of him.
