Chris Pratt looks back to the future as Star Lord after Guardians 3 and Aubrey Plaza join him in MCU

Chris Pratt reprises his role as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will premiere in theaters in May.

During a conversation with Rolling stonethe protagonist reflected on his future as a Star-Lord and revealed how the role changed his life.

He also talked about his former Parks And Recreation co-star and on-screen wife Aubrey Plaza joining him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Agatha: Coven Of Chaos, a spin-off of Disney+’s hit series WandaVision.

This third installment is the last Guardians film to feature the current roster of characters, marking the end for Pratt of what he believes is the most important film series of his burgeoning career.

“My whole life is different now because of Marvel, because of the Guardians Of The Galaxy,” Pratt confessed. “It changed my life so much that I’ve been going non-stop ever since.”

The role also changed people’s perception of his physique, given that he had to bulk up and get shredded to play Peter Quill prior to the 2013 shoot.

Until then, he was more known as the not-too-very fit and not-too-very wise Andy Dwyer on the hit series Parks And Recreation (2009-2015, 2020).

As the promotional push for Guardians 3 begins to ramp up, 43-year-old Virginia, Minnesota, also weighed in on Plaza, 38, joining him in the MCU, describing her casting in Agatha: Coven Of Chaos as “full circle” .

‘I love that! She’s having such an amazing moment right now, that really gets me excited,” he said of the news that she’d jumped on board the superhero genre and the MCU.

“She is so unique and talented and special. It’s just great that the rest of the world is waking up to that. She was great in White Lotus (2022) and Emily The Criminal (2022) was great. And I think she’ll show that it’s perfect for her to play a witch in a coven for Marvel.”

Now that they exist in the same fictional universe, the question arises: is there any chance they could share the screen in an MCU project in the future? The answer first depends on whether Pratt is willing to play Star-Lord again.

At first, Pratt seemed hesitant to give away too many spoilers about his future ahead of all the promotion that this would be the last Guardians movie in this iteration. It also turned out that his concerns were about spoiling if the character died.

That being said, saying I don’t feel like I’m done shouldn’t be going into spoiler territory. I don’t want that to be like, “Oh, well, Chris Pratt says Peter Quill doesn’t die.” That’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is, even if I die in this, there’s a way to bring me back. So speaking of practicality, can Peter Quill come back? The answer will always be yes,” he shared.

Friends of the MCU: Pratt was overjoyed when he learned that his Parks And Recreation co-star Aubrey Plaza joined him in the MCU in Agatha: Coven Of Chaos, a spin-off of Disney+’s hit series WandaVision; the two actors played husband and wife in Parks And Recreation

Continuing his explanation, the main man added, “Now if you say to me, Chris Pratt the actor, do I want to reprise my role as Peter Quill and is there any mileage left in the character and do I have the bandwidth or space for that? I do. I’d be interested in playing the character again.”

The first two Guardians Of The Galaxy films were hugely successful at the worldwide box office, originally grossing $773.3 million against a budget of $232.3 million, and Vol. 2 took in a whopping $863.8 million on a $200 million budget.

Directed by James Gunn, the upcoming third installment will see nearly the entire cast reprise their roles, alongside some newcomers.

In this final go-around, the Guardians of the Galaxy adjust to life on Knowhere as parts of Rocket’s past resurface. To protect him, Peter Quill must lead the Guardians on a dangerous mission that could lead the team to disintegrate
