Chris Packham has claimed I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bosses spray the jungle with insecticide to prevent insects from biting the contestants.

The 61-year-old naturalist claimed an ITV crew member had told him that the jungle is doused with insecticide ‘every day’ to ‘kill biting insects’.

However, a spokesperson for I’m A Celebrity responded to the claims, calling them “false” and claiming that they put in place a “strict environmental plan” during filming.

A spokesperson for the show said: “This is absolutely not true, as a production we don’t spray the jungle or the castle area with insecticide, we have a strict environmental plan.”

Chris claimed that jungle contestants don’t complain about bugs or “scratching and itching,” calling the allegations “really shocking.”

While Dec hesitates to jump, Ant reminds him that he’s signed a contract, which means they have to legally go everywhere together.

The reality show returns to the Australian jungle for the first time in three years after it was held at Gwrych Castle in North Wales due to travel restrictions due to the pandemic.
