Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo took ESPN’s First Take out of his regular sports world on Wednesday when he decided to talk about the assassination of former US President John F. Kennedy.

In Russo’s “What Are You Mad About” segment, the 64-year-old sports radio host speculated about JFK’s death on his 60th birthday.

“These guys know, but I’m giving them a history lesson,” Russo said of his First Take co-hosts. “Today marks the 60th anniversary of JFK’s assassination.”

Behind him, Stephen A. Smith, Molly Qerim and Kimberly Martin were visibly shaken, unsure of the direction Russo was taking with his comments.

“If anyone thinks Lee Harvey Oswald did that himself,” Russo continued. “They’re bringing gummies.”

The last part of the statement refers to Russo admitting to consuming edibles before watching football games on his days off.

“Lee Harvey Oswald, that was not a solo deal with the president of the United States,” Russo added.

Russo received mixed reactions from fans on social media.

‘Preach!!! Finally someone is saying it,” one fan wrote. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes ‘missing’ soon.”

“I mean no one cares what this guy thinks about football,” another responded. “Now we have to listen to him when he gives theories about historical events?”

After starting the segment by raising the producers’ pulses, Russo lightened the mood with a hilarious Thanksgiving rant. Russo complained about having to spend time with his in-laws and family when all he wanted to do was watch football.

“I can’t stand it, it’s a disaster,” Russo shouted as his co-hosts laughed behind him. “And Christmas is coming, which is even worse.”

Known for his radio shows “Mike And The Mad Dog” and “High Heat,” Russo was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2022.

The same year, he began appearing as a regular guest on First Take following the departure of Max Kellerman.
