Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky add to their $90million property empire

Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth appears to be in the market for a new luxury beach pad in Victoria.

The 39-year-old Aussie actor has been spotted visiting the construction site of a new Beach Street development, reports Port Melbourne The Announce sun.

According to the report, the penthouse apartments in the posh complex are valued at $18.5 million.

Hemsworth, who with wife Elsa Pataky owns property in the Byron Bay region of NSW worth nearly $90 million, has yet to buy one of the available apartments, which are worth $2.7 million and up.

Former Socceroo Harry Kewell is also said to be looking into the plan of the new development, which will feature expansive ocean views when completed.

According to The Herald Sun, Hemsworth has hired a representative to search property in Victoria.

The handsome fan favorite, who grew up on Victoria’s Phillip Island, owns nearly $90 million worth of real estate, but none of it is in his home state.

After buying his family home in Byron Bay for $7 million in 2014, Hemsworth transformed the sprawling property into a compound worth between $30 million and $60 million.

The actor undertook extensive renovations to the six-bedroom home and it now boasts a steam room, gym, media room and games room.

There is also a beautiful outdoor living area, play areas for his three young children and a 50-foot rooftop infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

Chris and his family began construction on the mansion in late 2017, which was previously an eight-bedroom resort-style home known as Kooeloah.

The Thor star and wife Elsa Pataky, 46, also own a Broken Head horse ranch and retreat, purchased in 2019 for $4.25 million, with an estimated value of $10 million now.

Set on 35 acres, it was developed with a state-of-the-art horse stables and an arena for dressage, show jumping and horse practice.

There was also the development of an artificial swimming lake complete with fun cabanas, islands and even a waterslide.

Last year, the couple got permission to build another home in the Byron Bay region.

The Hollywood couple got the green light in August to build two ‘celebrity guesthouses’ next to their mansion.

Hemsworth proposed $4.4 million in works, bringing the completed property to $8.6 million, reports the Daily telegram.

Detailed plans show that the house will have two homes with a total of seven bedrooms; the primary mini-mansion will contain five bedrooms, while the second house will have two, each with its own ensuite bathroom.

The sprawling residence will have four levels, as well as a butler’s pantry and swimming pool.

A second building will be next to a pond, which already has a cabana and fire pit.

A garage will comfortably accommodate three Ferraris for the Hemsworths or their Hollywood friends, who are expected to bunker down on the new trail.

Daily Mail Australia first revealed last year that Chris and Elsa wanted to build the new seven-bedroom home – each with its own ensuite bathroom – less than a mile from their mega-mansion.

Development plans were first submitted in March 2021, with a final design submitted to Byron Bay Shire Council in July last year.

Along with his brothers Liam and Luke, Chris also made a purchase in Newrybar in 2021, acquiring 37.5 acres in the area for $6.8 million.

The land offers stunning ocean views and is on the ridgeline of Newrybar.

The farmlet comes with a building block and was last sold in 2001 for $680,000.

The property was cherished by McGrath Real Estate as ‘the premier hinterland land opportunity with some of the best vistas in the Northern Rivers’.

‘This extremely rare property is the perfect blank canvas to create your idyllic back country estate, perched high on the escarpment above Byron Bay and Lennox Head and with uninterrupted views,’ the agent added.

The brothers made another purchase in Newrybar in 2022, taking in 44.5 acres in the region for $10.5 million.
