Chris Evans is crowned People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

Chris Evans was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2022 on Monday on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The 41-year-old actor took the award remotely from the set of his upcoming film after being introduced by former title holder Dwayne Johnson, 50.

Chris was asked by Dwayne to say something sexy after taking the title.

“Go vote tomorrow,” Chris said, looking into the camera ahead of Tuesday’s US midterm elections.

Stephen, 58, previously joked that Chris was a finalist for the title along with show guest John Oliver, 45, before announcing the winner.

‘He’s not even here! These are bulls***. Tell! Stop stealing. He’s not even here!” John jokingly protested from the crowd before walking away.

Colbert announced People Magazine’s selection for the second year in a row.

Chris, after being congratulated by Dwayne, wore a black sash that read ‘Sexiest Man Alive’.

“Means a lot of a former Sexiest Man Alive,” Chris said.

“What do you mean?” The Rock asked him.

“I mean, you know, thanks for the support. As a former Sexiest Man Alive, it just means a lot,” Chris told Dwayne.

“I’ll never give up the title!” Dwayne said.

“Weren’t you the sexiest man in the world in 2016?” Chris asked.

“I’m the sexiest man who lives forever, which means for life,” Dwayne said.

“I thought I had just been called…” Chris said.

“Let me ask you a question, brother. Am I alive? Am I still sexy? You bet your sexy mouth it’s me,” Dwayne said.

“We’ll share,” Chris said when Dwayne urged him to say something sexy.

Chris takes on the Sexiest Man Alive title, which was last awarded to actor Paul Rudd, 53, in November 2021.

Other recent winners include: Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Ryan Reynolds and David Beckham.

People magazine named its first Sexiest Man Alive in February 1985 when it singled out then 29-year-old Mel Gibson for the honor.
