Chris Eubank Jr’s cousin calls out Conor Benn after winning the WBO Global Super Lightweight title before Chris Eubank Snr calls for the Destroyer to ‘get his license and stop hiding from us’
- Harlem Eubank, the cousin of star Chris Eubank Jr, has drafted Conor Benn
- Harlem won the WBO Global Super Lightweight title by defeating Timo Schwarzkopf
- How do you get the biggest fight for a needy AJ without major risk? The hook
Harlem Eubank, Chris Eubank Jr’s cousin, called out Conor Benn on Saturday night after beating Timo Schwarzkopf in Brighton.
Harlem hit his opponent with a big right hook in the third round, before delivering another devastating blow in the 11th, forcing the referee to wave off the bout.
As a result, Harlem – a candidate at the Brighton academy and a karate world champion – was awarded the WBO Global Super Lightweight title.
After the fight, Harlem was asked who he wanted to fight next and his uncle, Chris Eubank Snr, jumped in to call out Benn.
After the fight, Eubank Snr said: “That just put him in the perfect position, that fight, for his next fight, which is at 147lbs against Conor Benn.”

Harlem hit his opponent with a big right hook in the third round and another in the 11th
As a result, the referee waved off the match and saw Harlem emerge victorious that night
The 57-year-old then addressed Benn directly and said: ‘Get your permit and stop hiding from us, obey the rules Conor.’
He said, ‘That’s what I’m here for now. I have shown what I can do against a man of Timo’s level, he has never been stopped before.’
Harlem added, “I’m almost 147 pounds and Conor Benn is at the top of my hit list, let’s get on with it.”
Benn cruised to a unanimous decision victory over Rodolfo Orozco in his highly anticipated return to boxing in Orlando on September 23.
Benn was out of the ring for seventeen months after failing two drugs tests ahead of his proposed mega-fight with Eubank Jr last October.
Benn rocked Orozco with some sharp right hands throughout the match, but he had to endure some hairy moments of his own, especially in the eighth round.
But when the final bell sounded, he had done more than enough to mark his return to the sport with a win and another fight with Eubank Jr.
After the fight, Harlem called out Conor Benn and said he wanted to fight the Destroyer next
However, it seems unlikely they will have to deal with this as Benn is instead working on a deal with Eubank Jr. works
Therefore, it seems unlikely that Benn will be interested in fighting Eubank Jr.’s cousin Harlem next, with Eddie Hearn labeling his call-up as ‘bizarre’.
Speaking to Mail Sport about Eubank Snr’s recent comments about the Eubank Jr vs. Benn fight, Hearn said: ‘Firstly, he said it was dangerous for his son to take the fight at 157lbs. So now we go up just 3 pounds to get Chris Eubank Jr. the right to fight at 160 pounds.
‘Obviously Chris Eubank Snr is now representing Harlam, so he’s pushing Harlam Eubank for that fight with Benn.
‘It’s bizarre. We’re just focusing on Eubank versus Benn and hopefully we can wrap that up next week.”
