Chloe suffered a broken leg and was on her road to recovery… but a terrifying complication now has her family planning her funeral
A mother praised for her selflessness has died after breaking her leg and suffering serious complications.
Chloe Phippen, 39, died on January 4 at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, with her family by her side.
Mrs. Phippen succumbed to a persistent infection resulting from her broken femur.
A colleague at Sydney’s Legacy and Legacy Club Services remembered the thoughtful 39-year-old’s charitable heart.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Chloe Phippen,” she wrote.
“Our working woman for the past 15 years and a respected advocate for the families of veterans and subject matter expert within the Veteran and Family Community.”
Her husband Jamie Phippen told Daily Mail Australia that his wife enjoyed helping others.
“My family and I are honored by the work she has done. She was unique, he said.

“My wife Chloe had a beautiful soul and loved helping families of deceased veterans.
“Honestly, she liked to help everyone. She always put others first.
“She was my best friend and my soulmate, and I am completely heartbroken.”
He added a heartbreaking tribute to Facebook and left a heartfelt memory for others.
“Some of you may know by now that we recently lost our beloved Chloe; Words cannot describe the sadness I feel,” Mr. Phippen wrote.
“For 23 and a half years, more than half of our lives, she was my rock, my moral compass and my everything.
“The countless families she supported throughout her career sometimes didn’t understand how much of herself she invested in herself.
‘How much of herself she has put into her work. She really cared.”

Mr. Phippen had taken time away from work to help his wife battle the infection.
He said he never felt like he deserved to have someone “so special” to share his life with.
“She was kind, she was beautiful, she was selfless in a way. she was proud, she was fiery, she was stubborn, she was the best mother, she was the best wife,” he said.
He said everyone should cherish the people around them while they are around.
“Don’t walk away today without taking stock of those you love,” Mr. Phippen said.
‘We thought we had over thirty years to see the world, but now it was time for us to focus on raising Liam and Lily. We kept putting things off.
‘Don’t put things off.
‘Hold your partner tight and enjoy life together.’
He now cares for the couple’s 17-year-old and 10-year-old children.
Mr Phippen’s sister, Leah Jenner, said her sister-in-law made everyone feel lucky to know her.
“Although her time on this earth was short, she left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten,” she said.
She started a GoFundMe page to help her brother.
