Images released of two men wanted for questioning over the shooting death of Chloe Jade Mason, 23, on a suburban Caboolture street

Two men are wanted by police as part of a murder investigation into the death of a young woman who was found suffering from a gunshot wound and not breathing on a suburban Queensland street.

Police say Chloe Jade Mason, 23, known to those close to her as CeeJay, was chased and shot by two men moments before she was found outside her home in Caboolture in the state’s south-east on December 22.

Detectives released images of two men on Saturday who they believe could help solve the targeted attack on Railway Parade, which took place just after midnight.

Officers found the young woman unconscious and unable to be resuscitated.

Detectives believe Ms. Mason was shot while “being attacked by two male subjects.”

The weapon used during the incident has yet to be recovered and the two unknown assailants are still on the run.

Queensland Police also released CCTV footage from the scene at the time of the shooting, including audio in a public appeal for more information.

Police are also calling on the two men involved to contact them.

Detective Inspector David Harbison said she was shot by two men, and investigators were treating her death as a homicide.

“Initial investigations indicate that the deceased was assaulted by two male individuals who may have chased her through Railway Parade,” he told reporters earlier this week.

“Police are investigating reports of up to three to four shots fired in that street.”

The woman probably suffered a gunshot wound during the assault.

Det Insp Harbison said police did not believe the incident was a random attack where the parties involved knew each other.

Anyone who traveled along Railway Parade between 11.40pm on December 21 and 12.15am on December 22 is urged to contact police.

Daily Mail Australia previously revealed Ms Mason was involved in a stabbing that almost claimed her life, years before she was shot.

‘I’m in the [hospital] department now,” she shared on social media in 2016.

‘There are still nurses around me 24/7 checking on me [and] making sure everything is correct and nothing is out of place.

‘I have two drains in my heart to drain all the blood that leaks from the valve that was cut when the knife went 3 cm deep into my heart.

“I’m fighting through this with the love and support of my family and friends.”

The shocking revelation comes after it was revealed that her former boyfriend Kane Alexanderson, 18, was himself stabbed to death during a knife fight in 2020.

Hours after her death, Mrs Mason’s devastated sister launched a fundraising campaign to share a heartbreaking message.

“Chloe was chased by two men and fatally shot on December 22, 2024 in Brisbane,” Hannah McKone wrote on GoFundMe.

“Chloe was only 23 years old.”

‘Because Christmas is so close, her family has no savings or financial resources to give her a funeral.

‘We kindly ask for help and support. All money donated will go directly towards Chloe’s funeral service.’

Another sister, Danni Mason, remembered Chloe as a “daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend… who was loved by many.”

“This loss has devastated our family and we are struggling to come to terms with this so close to the holidays,” she wrote.

“As sisters, we grieve for the things she won’t experience, all the things we won’t be able to share, and the memories we won’t make. She was an incredible woman.”

Neighbors told the ABC they heard several gunshots shortly before the woman’s body was found.

“I heard about three or four gunshots and then a little bit of wailing, and then I heard a guy yelling, f*** c***,” one person recalled.

“(It was) very scary.”
